Bitfenix Downfalls

o_0?

Mine *would not* fit with the hard drive cage there.

Are the SE/newer 600ts a revision of the internal chassis? Then again it could be mine being dodgy from the factory. The roof panel doesn't even come off, tabs are all weak etc, roof mesh doesn't spring up, etc.

Regardless, I'd still move that cage over to improve the airflow/reduce any turbulence.

If definitely doesn't fit in the roof though? Physically couldn't for me without the use of a dremel.

I'll be moving the cage across once I get my new PSU. At the moment I've got an old Enermax Galaxy PSU which is extended in length and it's awkard to move the cage across.

ah those things are el-hugeo like the ax1200

This is pretty strange though. For me the drive cage would've been compressing the fan housing by 2-3 mm

I admit I was ready for a battle when it came to fitting the fan but the holes lined up perfectly and I screwed it in within seconds. Then I was ready to "bodge" the hard drive cage but it slid into the rails (not sure if that's what you call them) and went into position fine.

Maybe they made some subtle adjustments for the white/SE version?!?

My 200mm Spectre Pro arrived this morning and two minutes later I'd fitted it in the front of my 600T SE with no fuss at all. No filing involved, no "bodging", nothing. Even the hard drive cage fitted back with not much fuss.

I'm baffled as to why people say they don't fit?!?

+1

I fitted the same fan into the same case and it fit beautifully

I was even using long 30mm screws with rubber washers for vibration dampening and it wasnt an issue

@ griff are you using the rubber dampening washers that come with the 600t? I'm thinking maybe they are the cause for me?

I have the fan mounted the same way up as you and had to file part of the frame off because it clashed with the plastic bits that poke through from the front of the case (on the window panel side at the bottom of the fan)

The rubber washers that the screws go through? If so yeah I'm using them.

I think I can see what you're referring to now I've had another look. Do you mean the round peg like bits that slide/slot into a round "punched" hole? They look like they help the front plastic panel line up properly when you attach it.
