Hi Guys!

It's almost been a year since we've released out Alchemy cables, and boy has it been an interesting year. The tightest weave was one thing, but no heat shrink was another.

We know they're not perfect, so we're looking for feedback from you, the community. What do YOU want from our cables?
I've snooped a couple of forums, and things I've come up with is:
-longer sata cables
-pci 6+2 pins instead of 8 pin.
-right angle connectors?

Of course, this list could go on and on and on, but enough about what I've come up with. Lets hear it from you. What do you want to see from us? What's missing from our line up?

Another question I would like to ask, is "If you were to buy a set of cables, what are the most necessary set for you?" Another way of wording it would be "What would your perfect bundle of Alchemy cables look like?"

I'd also like to mention that any feedback on our existing cables are more than welcomed.

P.S Don't think that we won't implement some of these changes. I wouldn't be asking if we won't be improving

Hi guys,

I recently RMA'd some PCI-E 6 pin braided cables as they were damaged, but the point I want to make is that the fittings that go into the GFX card end were completely too tight, I couldn't even push them fully on without damaging my card. I have also seen another post from another forum member that he had the same experience, so its not just a one off.

I've had no problems with my other cables from Bitfenix.

Could you also make a longer braided SATA cable please, and ones with right angle connectors, thanks

i have bought alchemy cables for two machines and i would say the most useful bundle is:

- 24-pin motherboard
- 6-pin pcie
- 8-pin pcie
- 8-pin EPS

In terms of quality - they are very good apart from where the cable goes into the connector - it looks like the fabric is slightly damaged - this is on all the alchemy cables ive seen

i guess where the machine grabs the wire and inserts it into the connector it is a little too rough or something...

my previous build had a fully braided power supply but this time I decided to go for the easy option and get a full set of BF alchemy cables because I didn't have time to do a custom supply.

the only thing I would say is that I prefer the cables to be hard wired into the supply.

I like the braid quality of the cables, the lack of heatshrink and the lengths are ok

the only thing I would suggest is you guys working with PSU manufacturers to offer cable kits for popular PSUs

I know that corsair offer their own but their braiding is simply not as good as yours.

I am fairly certain that you guys could get the most popular modular supplies and do a kit for it.

surely you just need the corresponding male connectors?
I would have thought that you would need to get permission to use the supply model name on your own packaging but the benefits to that company that you supply a mod kit would be massive.

XFX, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic, BeQuiet are the obvious ones but i am fairly certain that a lot of them would be up for it.

even if you only offered a black cable kit.

I know i would buy one over the corsair kit for my Corsair AX750w

Perfect bundle would be 24pin, 8 pin EPS and a 6pin and 8 pin GPU cable.

Right angle connectors would actually be pretty cool, and I know it's been suggested time and time again, but more mixed colour schemes would no doubt go down well. Red + Black for example.

Still need to get a few more to complete my set!

My ideal bundle would have been:

24 pin
2x SATA (HDD & DVD)
Case USB
Case Audio

.... as I think everyone would be able to use them. Some people might not be able to use fan adapters or 6 pin GFX adapters so wouldn't want a bundle with them in... I guess maybe some power/reset/LED ones would be useful in a bundle too!


P.S - I know I need to tidy the cables up - I will do this once I get my new mobo

Actually none of our cables is made by machine but all are hand made!

I'm thinking of buying some of these cables but I'm currently torn between blue, white or black. Not sure of what to go for. I'll be sure to give some feed back when I can thuogh. Also while I have the chance have BitFenix stopped making the standard Spectre Fans (not Pro).

-I posted on the other forum which I guess you may have read, but yeah, Sata cables at 30cm are too short for me. I can't get them to look tidy because they are too tight to hide away.

-Obviously there is the 6pin pci-e issue that has been resolved. I ordered a new 6-pin pci-e cable in the same colour as the defective one yesterday so when it arrives I'll see if it's ok.

-I found it very hard to push in my psu 24 pin into the extension (OCZ ZX 850w)

-The wiring is no 1:1, for example the molex to single sata extensions, one cable will cross over another. Not sure if that explains it well.. try:

-molex to sata: wire 1 to wire 1, wire 2 to wire 2, wire 3 to wire 4, wire 4 to wire 3.
Maybe that's normal for molex to sata though, IDK.

As above, straight into the psu would be nice, but PSU's like mine have huge capacitors in the cable, so tbh it would look rubbish under individual braid.

Devise a psu shield to hide the psu and cables instead! *wishes*

+1 to both powersupply packages and a cover for powersupplys and cables, small things like this would make you lots of cash to as people will want them and because there small most people will have no problem buying them.

What's wrong with them? They're perfectly good case fans.

and what do you mean your cables have huge capacitors? If you look on your motherboard, those found battery-like towers are capacitors... Not sure what you mean there...

I'm trying to get a hold of a blue 200mm Sprectre fan but cannot find them anywhere without a stupid shipping cost. I had no luck emailing support as they linked me to a US/Canadian retailer.

I assume this is for me

The ocz zx 850w has large capacitors underneath the heatshrink at the motherboard-end of the 24pin modular cable. I suppose you could sleeve it but as a consumer I'd still want an extension to hide the capacitor part anyway.

Anyway, I'm not sure how easy it is to start producing compatible cables for psus, but I'm guessing corsair and ocz will be 2 brands that (if it's within their power?) may not approve bitfenix cables, as corsair have their own indi braded cables coming out, and ocz have just announced the fatality 1000w with indi braided cables, so looks like they're looking into it too..

Also, i would like to buy some sets perhaps a couple of case fans and a set of the usual extentions that you would need to make a nice custom build and sell them in a pack I would buy that for sure. You could make some nice different colour options with that idea also.

You could do a bundle set of braided cables?

1X 24 pin ATX
1X 8pin ATX
2X 6+2 pin PCI-E
2X SATA data and power cables.

Package it all up in one box.
