I agree completely, however you can alway loop slack cable via ty-wrap etc.

On another note I would like to see more 2-fan to 1-3 pin fan connectors, so I can link 2 fans to the same fan controller.
 
I wouldn't like the UV ones. However I'll +1 Rjk's suggestion, especially going by the photos TTL just put up, of what I think are the Bitfenix Alchemy Corsair cables you did as a trial for him.

I would really like a mixed colour range/red&black/black&white/blue&white ect,I think a lot of us would like a range like that as braiding ur own is a real pain,here,s hopeing
 
You guys make these by hand, right? If so, then you could offer up accent colour options.

What I mean by that is look at a lot of the recent builds in this forum alone and you'll see a lot of use of accent colours - most of the braided cables are black, with maybe 1 single cable at either end of the group done in an accent colour - yellow/red/white etc.

This could be done using black as the group colour, or maybe even white, giving countless options.

Might be something fresh to the market, I certainly don't think I've seen it offered up anywhere else.
 
Having recently gotten a set of alchemy cables which I installed for my little review last month, I would have to reiterate the points that I made then..

The SATA cables, could do with being slightly longer, 30cm is just a little too short.
It would be handy if colour-matched cable-ties could be included with the cables, especially the 24-pin atx cable.

As other have stated, it would be nice if we could get cables in pre-defined bundles, and also be nice if it were possible to get replacement cables for the major psu manufacturers modular systems.

The other thing that I would like to see, would be complete transformation kits, including both cables, led strips, and fans..
 
I have a good few of these cables, just ordered some more for my 580's! love them, so hats of to bitfenix, :)

i would like to see some 4pin pwm extention cables though, and some pwm Y cable's would be good too.
 
I'll add my 2 cents to this :)

A box set of cables would be a good idea as mentioned earlier. Having just bought a "set" of Blue alchemy cables it makes sense to include the "usual" ones in a set. From my point of view, a set including 24pin, 8pin, 2x PCI-E 6 pin, and perhaps a couple of Sata Cables would make sense.

Coloured sets would seem the way to go, i dont know of many modders who have a series of multi coloured cable collections, however common colour combo packs might be good. I've seen a couple of decent red/black or black/yellow combo builds which looked good. Maybe custom packs, i.e the ability to add different types of cable in one "set" (i.e pick a black 24pin, yellow 8pin, 1 black 6pin PCI-E, 1 yellow 6pin PCI-E)

The above is simply an extension to a previous idea, but hope it helps :)

PS - very nice cables, very happy when my "set" arrived :)
 
Filtered PCI-E cables.
To eliminate PSU whine. The high frequency feedback from high fps plagues many people. Often replacing a PSU or GFX card is the only solution to them.

I used to be able to get filtered cables but no ones stocks them anymore.

Personally I don't care what the cable looks like, I just want a high quality one.

They're definitely in-line capacitors at the mobo end of the 24pin:

Would mean sourcing capacitors too if you did ocz zx psus. To be honest with the sheer number of psu connection types between manufacturers I can't see how a 3rd party like bitfenix can produce all these different cable types and bring all the different skus to market :/. The only way I can see you doing it is if you were to only produce cables for popular psus.

I think a good idea is to build some sort of sheath or guard functionality into future bitfenix cases to hide the psu/wires from view, something similar to the haf x, for example.

Aesthetically I think the alchemy cables have been the best decision I have made so far. I actually changed my theme part way through so I've a load of white spares lol.
The alchemy connect leds are awesome. I have a 30cm white strip for a more industrial theme, but the possiblity to mix colours with them makes them very mod friendly and customisable. :cool:

And this was why, the thread was made to ask for opinion the extensions, not power supply cables. :o

Update on the alchemy LED strip: I broke it. I was doing some cable management earlier and.. it turns out if you don't pay attention and only plug in three of the 4 tiny pins (I did it without looking, like an idiot, lol), the connector crackles, smokes and melts, LOL. My bad. Gave me a fright! thought I'd lost something valuable. But the smell of burning plastic is unmistakeable!

Gonna buy some more, and connect it properly this time. LOL.

I'd also like to point something out for this. This is "high frequency feedback" that you hear, is called coil whine. It has nothing to do with the cable. It is caused by any hardware that is using the electricity. Walk by a hydroelectricity station, you'll hear it. Have an old CRT screen? Very likely you'll hear it. Sit in your living room at night time when it's quiet and you shut of your main switch for the power in your house, the missing sound is the coil whine from the electronics in your room. Filtering electricity will not eliminate this noise.

Was just about to say they needed to be done that way other wise you end up having to try and hide the extra 2 pin somehow like I had to with my build.

The packs sound like a great idea too and I would also love to see cables using different colours.

Another thing which I think would be good for the cases (particularly when using alchemy cables) is a psu connector cover like on the Haf cases.
