** BLACK FRIDAY / CYBER MONDAY STARTS AROUND 9AM THURSDAY!! **

Considering 'normal' price is a 100% markup, and most black Friday items are only a few percent off, coupled with all the hype and marketing spiel and there are to be no further discounts, I'd say complaining is not entirely unacceptable.

They need to reduce the good products further. Whoever is in charge of maximum discounts and quotas needs to get in touch with the consumer, because many people will just shop elsewhere.

i don't know how it is for computer components, but in other retail areas there certainly isn't a 100% mark up lol.
my mrs worked for sainsburys usually mark up is maybe 5% on produce.

I don't think you actually know what the cost price of components is.

I have actually seen some of the wholesale prices and they are 100% marked up. Can't speak for every product, but there it is. Remember, they have overheads and employees to pay. Still, such large resale margins are somewhat disconcerting, no?

margin on produce was probably a bit below that but then you need to take off operating costs etc too

Non food is better margins but only in extreme circumstances over 50% (and even then you won't sell at that price, it's just to then discount from)

I used to work in OC's part of the industry both in retail and distribution roles and the vast majority of their Black Friday deals are below normal cost price levels so they are either losing a lot of money or what is more likely is they are getting manufacturer support for the discounts.

On a side note, your list of discount %'s contains a discount listed for the corsair 350D iirc, but couldn't see it on the website :)
