Black Mesa Source

Fair enough. Apologies if my post was a little short.

It does look really cool. I never completed HL1 'back in the day' so I'd love to get my teeth into it via this.

I don't have the time to play through a huge single player game right now. And even if I did, it's *very* hard to recapture the "magic" of old games if you didn't play it when it was new.

You don't have the rose-tinted glasses that let you ignore the graphics that look bad compared to modern games, the clunky interface and controls and the patience to get round the odd issues that the games have with modern PCs/OS's.

Example: I love System Shock 2 and happily re-play it to this day. I can appreciate that getting someone else to play it that 'missed out' would be rather hard though.

Will definately be having a crack at this. I remember playing HL watching and rewatching the intro before I even got anywhere near the game. Be nice to take a trip down memory lane.......

Fair point Aekeron. May have had a discussion with you about system shock 2 before? I played that recently but for the reasons you mentioned I just didn't enjoy it! Ah well.

This will never be released, but in the off chance it does, it'll be so far off peoples radar and the source engine will be so dated it'll fail.

Been following this for a little while now. Im itching, badly to play it!

I absoltely adored the original when it came out, sitting in a dark room geting spooked at head crabs jumping at me from nowhere! Brilliant!

Nothing wrong with the source engine, what I like about it is it actually looks real.
