Now they just do small updates every now and then. They'd rather everyone think it was dead than little-worked on it seems.

darn it.. I absolutely loved HL2 and the episodes - I must have completed HL2 a dozen times - but I've never played HL1.. should I play through it, or should I wait for BM:S?

Right I've been following black mesa source since HL2 was released. What 4 years? And they keep saying close to release.
Personally I wouldn't bank on it being this year, and if it is I bet it will be Xmas time. So go ahead and play half life 1, tis a great game.

i bought hl1 years ago and still haven't played it yet. i've gone through the intro sequence and that's about it.
The intro's bloody brilliant i think, where yer on the train going in.
You should be arrested for not playing Half Life 1

I've got HL1 on my steam account. But I'm too young the TRUE epicness of HL1 in its golden day's. but I can sense its epic impact on people because it offered more than just run to X run back then run back to X. And video games need inovation more than just repeat after repeat.

I agree with Loadsa... when I done the train section back on release I was so amazed, it was right around the time I purchased a Voodoo 2 also...

At the bottom of the rticle, they make a point of saying "this mod is not dead". It always seems to me it's only the dead ones which make a point of saying that.
