Typically, when someone releases something like this, they'd pre-load the torrent on multiple servers with awesome upload, so you'd start with 10+ seeds spread over multiple trackers.

In this case, it seems there's 1 tracker, which is getting hammered so appears offline :/

Torrents are peer-to-peer: The burden of uploading is spread across everyone who is downloading.

In short - it scales well with large numbers of people downloading, whereas a direct download does not.

I'm going to wait an hour or two I think...



Edit: ... as long as the torrent is set up well. Which, in this case, it doesn't seem to have been:
