Black Mirror: Season 6

Demon 79 was very good. Production was top quality, great cast and a nice blend of humour and awfulness.

Series overall was ok, 2 good episodes, 1 good but too long, one average and one that really didn't work imo.

Honestly the whole thing was ****. Demon was OK, but not really amazing.

Just poor writing, shame as most of the casting was pretty good.

Now I've watched them all, I liked Demon 79, then Joan is Awful best. Loch Henry was too predictable - like a Tales of the Unexpected episode, and the space one was pretty weak too. I won't even mention the other one, as it's not worthy of it.

First episode having to listen to some garbage ghetto hip hop/rap tune and then seeing a guy in a dress I was like na this is ****
Second episode, multiculture relationship and the old woman goes you're a cutey! I was like NOPE that thing is rough!
Next episode or was the one after which is set in space? The idea was good, but that was some boredom! A guy can't even defend his family properly lol

AWFUL!

Watched ep3 (Beyond the Sea) last night - massive improvement over the first 2, and definitely had that Black Mirror "vibe" to it. Maybe a little too long, but not painfully so.

Not sure I agree with the predictable ending claims either considering it could have gone multiple ways and they faked out the 'kill him and take his place' ending right before the end.

I was pretty sure that's how it was going to go as soon as he used his link, so was nice to be wrong (I'm not sure which would have been the darker ending to be honest!)

I believe the latter bit was answered in the episode. As to the former I would assume because the mission was more important to their employers and maybe the robots were not as reliable/might need maintenance/parts etc

Jesse Pinkman did say it took 2 people to operate the ship. So killing the other person wouldn't be a viable option

You're expecting logical behaviour from someone who has clearly lost his mind. I think given the ending that actually happened, the likeliness of them both going on and working together and getting on with their lives is basically zero. They're both going to end up dead in either ending.

I found this the weakest of the 5. It was just so obvious and the ending was unrewarding. Usually Black Mirror is shocking or unusual. This episode was just badly written imo.

3 in so far.

1st one was interesting.

2nd was quite chilling.

3rd was dark - I genuinely thought it was going for a predicatable ending ie he left Pinkman in space and took over his family, so when we got the ending we did, that was dark.

Any thoughts on how their remaining 4 years in space would play out? They need each other to survive, so killing the other is killing themselves - unless they go mad, or just don't care as they have nothing to go back to.

Watched the first three. They’ve all been okay, nothing special.

One was quite funny once it got going.

I enjoyed two but some of the decisions from one of the characters were so stupid that it ruined it for me.

Three was a bit too long and I really didn’t enjoy the ending.

Just watched episode 1 of the new series, was pretty terrible imo.

Episode 2 was slightly better. A bit predictable and full of cliches at the end.

Episode 3 had its moments, but ends up being sci fi Eastenders.

Episode 4 was just random.

Episode 5 I quite liked actually. Not the best black mirror episode, but passable.

I watched the first couple of episodes and i really hope it gets better. They were so predictable and the writing on the second one was particularly lazy. I saw from the first couple of seasons that they were very inspired by tales of the unexpected/twilight zone/outer limits/hammer house of horror but with a modern twist, which i respected and enjoyed however just like the latter seasons of those shows the novelty has really worn off and its becoming a chore to watch.

Watched the last 2 episodes the other night.

Mazey Day - WTF? What a waste of time. There was no story to speak of, the characters were forgettable, and it was just woeful.

Demon 79 - In 2 minds about this one. I quite enjoyed it, between this and Beyond the Sea definitely the strongest in the series - unfortunately that's not saying much! On the other hand, it really wasn't Black Mirror.

Unfortunately Black Mirror seems to have outstayed its welcome - perhaps we've gotten to the point where the "dark future" it portrayed has become reality? :p

just went downhill as soon as it got americanised on GenericFlix

doesn't matter how good the episodes are, just throw in a couple of american actors that are well known or nepo babies

Ep1 was was the only thing that gave us some true-to-form techno dystopia, albeit very netflix focussed. Ep2 was just more netlfix indulgence without the techno part.

The rest can go in the bin.
