Possibly the last fps in 2012 to do this?

Worlds apart...ignoring the fact that they ruin the game in the first place.

New game-mode...woahhhhh

and still looks like game from 2007

Can hardly contain my excitement

doesn't improve the game

About time, but perks should be removed altogether.

...seriously

HOLY **** dedicated servers??!! LEAN??????????? LOBBY ****ING CHAT?!?! MUST BUY GAME OF 2012 FO SHO.

The game still looks dire visually compared to anything else out this year and if they can't get it looking good on their ancient engine, how about building a new one? oh yeh, because it eats into the profits of their cash cow.

honestly, i can understand why some people don't like CoD, but the vast majority of people who say "cod sucks lol, all the same, just map-pack lolol" are just bandwagoning idiots who've decided "i don't like CoD" and that's it - they'll never listen or bother reassessing their opinion ever again. For these people every CoD game will be terrible, just because it's got CoD written on the box, regardless of the content of the game itself.

People like this are the truly mindless ones, not the people who buy the game because they enjoy it (though I admit there are lots of idiots who like the game too, obviously).

Thanks for proving my point. The PC features which I listed were missing in previous games so I listed them, since they were a large reason the PC crowd turned against the franchise. Now they're back people can't complain about them anymore. I'm not saying it's some kind of wonderful thing but it's brought the game up to par so kindly stop being an ***hole.

So according to you perks and killstreaks should be taken out of the game? Rofl.

Also since when do people care so much about graphics?! Go spend your days playing crysis photoreal if it's so important to you.

Can you please answer me this - what do you expect black ops 2 to do which would make you like it? They've already got new game modes, new weapons, new customisation options, they've removed nearly every balance complaint people had (deathstreaks, last stand, panic knifing, ghost campers etc), they're developing a proper PC version rather than a port, with dedicated servers, they have new killstreaks, new maps, new zombie features, new branching storylinne campaign,.... the list goes on.

What the **** else do you expect them to do?!

Not played cod since i bought MW3 (i think - the one that took away dedicated servers) and was really disappointed with it.

If it was £20 I might think about it as I like the difference in pace between COD and BF3 (although BF3 is trying to emulate it with close quarters)

Aside from that the game really does need an upgrade, but I don't see this happening until the next gen consoles are released.

Are they going to cater for the competitive side? Promod/PAM?

I'd like to see them remove all the gimmicks, turrets, paralyzing knives etc. as well as remove kill streaks for a start (score streaks is same thing) - because shooters used to be about good players doing good stuff. Not about letting the AI rack up kills for you.

Perks should be things like an extra grenade, an extra ammo clip, hidden from radar - not things like more health, faster sprint, faster reload because what soldier can equip himself with some magical 'perk' that allows him to soak up 10 bullets? I've never seen one.

Graphics dont matter much at all, but when its the worst looking game for the past 2 years (at least) and the only reason they aren't using a new engine is because they dont want to spend the millions they rake in on creating one, then its just pathetic.

The maps are like tiny arenas. With each version in the franchise, the maps have become smaller and smaller until they literally are an arena. The campaigns are laughable because they last about 4 hours and have child-like storytelling/script with such over the top events and narrative its like watching a bad C movie and is clearly catered to the "oh my god explosions and army men!!!!! thats so cooooooool" crowd.

...and where are the mods? where are the player-made maps? the player-made game modes? the custom servers with their own rules modded on? oh, they're not there because it would limit the amount they can squeeze from you in future DLC.

Unfortunately the CoD franchise is too lost to ever get back on the right track. Those of us who played CoD2 can only look back on the franchise with fond memories and ignore the mess it has become. :(

I loved CoD 2. Hill 200 was a horrible level on Veteran difficulty!

I think the franchise went down hill after Modern Warfare 1.

Go back to storylines based on real events. That way the writers can focus on characters and format rather than the general plot.

Vastly improve the sound design. Devs should take a leaf out of the Half Life 2 and Battlefield 3 books.

Stop making MP maps which feel like a mix between those big play centres that kids go to and a paintballing venue.

Stop making MP with this quick-fix, protein shake mentality and focus on the core player experience rather perks, streaks and DLC.

Stop making SP as a non-stop explosion bonanza. Set pieces are great, but they're far more effective when you build up to them. Use the time saved developing big bangs to develop more subtle and engrossing SP gameplay.

Build a game to deliver to PC with the intention to port onto console, rather than the other way around.

LOL. It's A GAME. In real life people don't respawn if they die - do you want that to be in the game? Just because something isn't realistic (perks) does not mean they can't be in the game. What a stupid thing to say.

The campaigns have some of the best set pieces out there. Again, if it's realism you're after why are you playing Call of Duty. Go buy a different game. Just because something is "arcade like" and you want "realistic" doesn't mean it's a bad game - it just means you're an idiot for buying it when it's clearly marketed as an over the top action orientated shooter, not a realistic one. Besides, the core part of Call of Duty is the online multiplayer, everything else is just secondary content.

And don't exaggerate, it's not the worst looking game in the past 2 years even on PC, let alone on the consoles. And like I said the graphics are not very important so I don't know why you're going on about them. They don't want to spend money on a new engine because the graphical benefit they can get from it is small, plus there is a new gen coming soon. Why would they spend money on this? They're a business. You expect them to be a charity?

Don't care if it's based on real events or not, as long as the gameplay and story are good (not saying that they are or aren't, just that the setting doesn't really matter)

They are redoing and upgrading the sound design in Blops 2 - weapons sound different depending if they're in the open or in a room etc etc

Somewhat agree with you about the maps. Blops 1 had much better maps than MW2 or MW3 though so I'd say it bodes well.

They are focusing on greater weapon variety. Attachments play an increased role and perks decreased.

As I said, SP is just a bonus part, the MP is the main game. Cod isn't about storylines - it's about stuff blowing up, it's been this way for years. Personally I'd like to see a longer and more story driven campaign too but given I only play through it once (if at all) I don't care that much. I agree SP is a big thing which has room for improvement in the franchise.

There is a seperate dev team for PC - it's a proper PC game not a port, just as the console games will not be ports either. Everyone gets the best quality and performance possible.

can we expect PC exclusive features? high res textures, higher quality audio etc?

64 man servers ?

The games can be fun, but people get fed up with the same old on the same old engine.

When they update the game engine and bring something new and exciting to the table, I'll happily purchase it.

It looks like any other COD game but with an updated HUD and Airsoft sounding weapons, maybe GFX upgrade, but still the same crap called COD, but most idiots will still buy it.

Enjoy the small maps.

Not sure about 64 man servers. There will however be:

- lean
- adjustable FOV
- higher res textures
- ranked dedicated servers
- directx 11 support

I'd imagine that the last point especially means that this game will look pretty decent - not as good as most PC exclusives obviously, but far better than it will look on console, and far better than the past couple of CoD games have on PC.

The audio quality to my knowledge is the same on all platforms in all multiplatform games? No?

I really don't understand why some people come into a thread just to bash a game. Is it just boredom? Personally, if I have no interest in a game, I just don't waste my time reading threads about it.

All lean does is add potential for more glitches, i remember in MOHAA people could lean and you could see nothing but the tip of their head yet they could shoot you as if they had most of their torso sticking out. Id put money on this bringing in a similar issue.
