Black.

Just seen on the EA forums that its not 360 compatible. MS should have just scrapped the whole idea of backwards compatibility as its turning into a joke.

Are any new Xbox games 360 compatible on the day of release?

I do think that MS should either have done backwards compatibility properly, or not at all.

As for Black, it looks graphically brilliant but the reviews (review sites + player reviews) don't sound too promising - it sounds like fun for a few hours but that's it - apparently it's very short and with little replay value. I'd like to try it out but I'm gonna wait until it's a lot cheaper than thirty quid.

I got the game today. I can't believe there is no multiplayer! anyway, apart from that it is a brilliant game. I can see myself trying to complete all the mission objectives after I have completed it. It isn't too hard which is good (there are harder modes of course). The graphics are pretty amazing and almost rival those of next generation consoles imo. I give it 7.5/10

This game is excellent. Not much on the storyside though and the intro is annoying but it looks so fantastic on my XBox. The missions are quite long and will keep you hooked. When I played the first mission, it felt like I was playing Call of Duty 2 again or something, in a good sense of course. I'm enjoying this more than I ever did with Halo 2, which still hasn't been played much yet :p

Am I right in thinking the game runs at 60fps? I did read that it was but some confirmation would be nice :)

Gah not worth playing if it is over 30 fps :P :P :P

I was in GAME yesterday afternoon and some 10 year old persuaded his grandfather to buy him this game. The chap on the counter tried to make the grandfather aware of how the 15 certificate on the game should be treated with the same kind of authority that a 15 cert on a film is usually given.

I backed the counter guy and the old boy decided against buying it for the kid. I was going to be there all day otherwise.

A housemate bought this yesterday for the PS2. The graphics really are outstanding, I had no idea the old dog could be pushed this far.

As for the gameplay, seems fun, nothing to write home about. Personally I would give it a rent.

I'm not sure why it has a 15 rating - no blood, no swearing as far as I an see. Just explosions etc. I'd personally let a 10 year old play it no problem

It sounds like you did that because you were in a hurry rather than because you thought it was right? :D I'm not sure that 10 year olds should be playing 15-rated games personally. It does look pretty violent for someone that age.

Well it was a mixture of things. I wanted to buy the item I had. In actual fact they had completed the purchase before I piped up and they ended up refunding, so it wasn't just to chivvy them along.
I felt that the old boy had been a bit dismissive of the kid behind the till and felt he deserved a little moral support. I do think that most parents have no idea about video games or ratings for them and they should take more notice.

When the tillmonkey said "excuse me sir, this game is rated 15 and should only be for people over the age of 15" the old boy said "Yeah well I am over 15".
It was the kid who was giving the cash to the old boy so the kid knew he couldn't buy it and presumeably the old boy understood that too. What he did not understand is that games aren't just little bits of fun but some are genuinely nasty.

I think mostly I felt bad for the tillmonkey really. He was right and was fairly rudely dismissed by someone who was infact quite ignorant of the issues.

Ah I see - I bet shop staff are well accustomed to rude people like that, unfortunately.. and I daresay that a lot of people, especially older people aren't aware of quite how realistic and graphic modern video games are these days.

True. Especially those tightwads who haven't bought a 360 yet :p :p :p
I worked in retail for a year or so. I hated it, felt bad for the lad, he was just trying to help.

I am pretty tight with money actually :o I'm sure that religion test in GD must have been wrong about me being only 4% like a Jew ;)

Seriously? I'd rather have some backwards compatibility than none at all. Admittedly it is annoying that there are a lot of my favourite Xbox games which don't work on the 360, it's still nice to pop games like PES5 in the 360 without having to hook up the Xbox seperately.
