Blackberrys

Think I found that deal:

On Orange.

Do you get BBM with that as well?

Very tempted as with Quidco cashback, it comes to around £17 a month over the 18 month term. Had my HTC Magic for the last 18 months on a £30 a month contract and hardly use my 600 mins, unlimited texts, etc, so looking for a cheaper contract.

Yep as long as it has unlimited BB email or BIS as its called then you will get access to BBM...always best to ring or email them to find out just in case.

Interesting, did you keep it in the case? I just chuck mine in my pocket and never have problems with the ball.

Yep kept it in the leather holster that i got with the phone...but that didnt stop it from being an issue...tbh im glad that BB's now have the new trackpad and they have done away with the trackballs.

Eish, get the Curve 3G or wait for the Torch :o

Or the 9700

too difficult

No brainer out of those 3 id get the 9700 in fact you might as well wait for the 9780 which should be out oct/nov but if you cant wait then the 9700 would be the one id get unless you like the Curve series....the 9700 will be getting OS6..hopefully in the next week or so as the 9650 and 3G curve have got leaked versions of OS6 for their devices.

Check the link in my sig for more info.

I couldn't wait, and got the 9700 - I couldn't see the 9780 coming soon enough and a chat with the retentions guy got me a loooovely deal so 9700 it was.

From videos it looks like the 9700 will run OS6 fine, though it remains to be seen how much memory for applications it'll have left afterwards (can these be installed to SD by the way?).

I have a T-Mobile Pulse (android) but it's got a few issues - I'm still using it as a toy and an ebook reader - on screen keyboards are naff to use, even with swype-style input. BB *** :)

Nope cant install apps to the SD card sadly.

Good choice, the 9700 is a brilliant device and hopefully the OS6 leak should be out soon...am hoping next week sometime.

OP, Yes it is, if it meets your needs. It really annoys me when I hear: "You shouldn't buy a BB because your not a businessman".

Happy 9700 user here, tbh I can't see myself with another phone just yet! I've had plenty of phones in the past and the 9700 is one of the best I've had.

Pluses for me:

- Push email,
- Qwerty keypad,
- BBM,
- Love the security features,
- Browser, even though people say it's bad I actually like it, does the job! Webkit browser in OS6 should improve on it.
- LED notification, very useful feature especially once you have BeBuzz.
- Battery life, mine can easily strect to 4-5 days depending on usage.

Overall very happy user. Sis has the 8900 and she loves it as well.

I run an 8900 & wouldn't be without it. I like the size/shape of it & the keyboard & it's the one reason my PC stays switched off as much as it does these days.

Just seen the Torch prices on dialaphone, man they are expensive :(

Well if its on contract then your looking at least £35+ per month as the phone offline is going to be selling at around the £500 mark.

I think the simplest way of putting things is that the blackberry is a superb communications device, but an average mobile computing device compared to Apple and Android.

Just logged onto Vodafone as I'm eligible for an upgrade. Can have the Torch for £12 on my existing contract with delivery by the end of this month.

Really looking to cut my spend down so will wait for the 9780 to be widely available. Should hopefully see some discounts on the 9700.
