Blacklight Retribution

Ok 95% of it is fixed frame rate wise and graphically but it still needs a bit more!

Turned off DX11, Blur, MLSAA(?) and Distortion now i'm getting 60fps all the time!!

, however I don't like the squashed feeling of the game like the FOV is at about 60 however someone else said it was set to 90. I still see a blurryness/smoothness to the textures in the distance even some walls almost as if Vaseline has been smeared on them.

It's like having AF set to only 4x af, i'll try setting the display settings in nvidia to forced 16XAF it may even be down to a texture streaming issue. I'm unsure!, But it was nice to play an entire round and come second while looking at the nicer textures :D

Hey Everyone,

We are aware of the current performance issues in the game. We are aware of the high pings. There is something that is chomping up our CPU performance on our servers and causing the high pings.

We are investigating it, but please hang tight while we may need to go through a few restarts.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

I'll just copy and past what I put in my thread that got closed:

Just watched the IGN review on this. Never heard of the game and as soon I saw it was free to play I thought it would be utter garbage like the rest of the F2P game but i've been pleasantly surprised.

There's a load of options to fiddle and mess around with and it looks to me like they've actually gone and put some effort into the game. They've actually put in proper servers and the lobby/set up screens etc. are very easy to use and pleasing on the eyes.

Playing it with a few mates on Vent and currently the EU server is down so we're all playing on the US ones. Around 130ms ping but it's still very playable with no noticeable slow down or lagg though i'm guessing the EU servers will be even better.

So yeah, just a heads up if you're bored or have some time to spare as this might actually be worth your time.

fantastic game, dont know why its so underated.

Call of duty free to play Unreal engine shooter clone? Thought it was ok and there was some fun elements to it (big mech suit or charging my mates with the flame thrower) but it becomes repetitive very quickly. :(

Would be better if it didn't take a week to permeantly unlock 1 thing

Aye this, a big turn off for what looks like could be an interesting game - no items for a LONG time unless you essentially rent them for 24 hours, which is an absolutely horrific idea if you ask me.

On top of that, the game ran like **** and I have a decent rig, even on mediumish/low settings.

Has some nice interesting features ingame, I like the mech suit thing but ultimately the game doesn't really feel like anything special, certainly wouldn't burn real money for items on it.

So I've downloaded and played about 5 hours worth and having a blast. Realise it takes forever to earn enough to get even the slightest unlock but you can still do great with the stock kit.

Really fun game and I love the idea of the VR goggles instead of a minimap.
Hopefully I'll want to play long enough to unlock just a couple items!

+1
