I'm sure there is nothing wrong with them but there are just certain brands who I just wouldn't want to ever buy from for no good reason at all lol.

Gainward, Zotac, PNY, Palit, INNO3d. I know they're pretty much all the same underneath but I just don't have any familiarity with those.
It's not like I think Asus cards for example are any better.
I've been so impressed with my MSI suprim X though that I would probably want to try and have another one in a different series.
Though I shouldn't neglect to mention, I went through three of that exact model before I had one with no coilwhine. Bloody great cooler though.
Never wanted a reference card either.

Zotac go way back, and have 5 years warranty. That's reason enough, also mine is pretty silent and no whine or anything either.

Yeah I saw that but then when I mentioned it around the 40 something launch people very quick to point out that it basically meant sod all because they aren't particularly easy to go through their customer service, plus it's unlikely they would have spare cards if they died after a few years.
Like I said there wasn't a particular reason for it. It's just unfamiliar brands to me.

Actually, I'm pretty sure there was a thread not long ago about a Zotac 4080 warranty replacement that was a ball ache.

Helps with resale value too. You will have 3 years left on your 4090 when you sell soon.

Or you sticking to keeping it the whole 5 years? You seemed dead on sure you would :p

Wattage means nothing, I run the 4090 undervolted which means around 250 watts in games on average vs its stock 450 watts :p

All the time? I run my Strix 4090 underclocked/300W in some older games for efficiency. Though for new AAA games, you need 100% of the 4090 performance and even then it can struggle at 4k.

More often than not I'm running my Strix overclocked where it uses 500-600W, as obviously I get more performance compared to stock or undervolted. Sure I could turn down the graphics, but I didn't buy a 4090 to do this :D
