NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

What about 3090 users?

Just wait for the higher vram 5070 coming later next year.

5090 looks awesome. Love the FE form factor, return to smaller GPU's is most welcome.

I really hope it's quieter in DB than the 3090 and 4090 FE cooler, if so I'll be going for the FE for sure. Else it'll be the 5090 Strix big metal brick edition :)

5070ti seems the sweet spot maybe (for me at least). Probably around 4080 super performance in raster, and has the same 16gb as the 580, for £729. Only 285w tdp as well.

I only have a 1440p monitor, with no interest to upgrade to 4k anytime soon so a 5070ti would probably already be overkill.

Edited: more like 4080 super perf

Not sure how you think a card with 8960 cuda cores and a 2475 boost clock is going to be anywhere near a card with 16384 cuda and a boost of 2520 in raster.

This doesn't actually look too bad, though we might just have been conditioned to expect the unacceptable by the 4000-series launch. The 5090's price increase over the 4090 is at the lower end of what I was expecting, given inflation and Nvidia's naked opportunism.

My worry - compared to the 4000-series launch, I can see this one turning into a scalper's paradise.

Where are you seeing the information on size?

The Nvidia announcement, 5090 FE confirmed as a dual slot card, much smaller than the 3090FE/4090FE

Looking at the size of the AIB 5090's, I think they're going to be much quieter than the 5090 FE, though I hope I'm wrong.

I'd love to go for the 5090 FE, though I think it's probably going to be even louder than the 4090FE, which was in turn louder than the 3090FE etc. Pity, as the dual slot form factor looks really sexy, would far prefer this.

I'll prob end up going for the Asus Strix again, or maybe the Astral (air version, no noisy asus AIO pump).
