Kope's claims for GB202, which would be used for a full fat rtx5090/ti

* Same TSMC 4NP as data centre cards. Details about this node is not public, don't know how much density or performance gain over last time's standard 4nm

* 12 GPC units per SM, same as Lovelace

* 8 TPC per SM vs 6 for Lovelace

* Significantly Increased L1 cache for SM throughput

* Total SM 192: 24,567 Cuda cores vs 16,384 cores on RTX4090

^^ Specs are for a full size GB202 die, which may not be the full size used in an RTX5090 due to cost, size and power.

I was surprised GB200 are based on TSMC 4NP instead of N3 so Blackwell gaming chips will use same process as GB200. Kopite claimed N4P has 30% density increase compared to old N4 process.

I think GB202 will be an interesting chip with 192 SM, 24.567 CUDA cores and 512 bit bus, Kopite not sure GB202 will be MCM chip so looked at GB200 it used dual GB100 chips so maybe GB202 on RTX 5090 will be MCM chip with dual GB203 chips. RTX 5080 will use single GB203 chip with 96 SM, 12,283 CUDA cores and 256 bit bus, maybe Nvidia will reserved 384 bit 1 year later for Blackwell refresh for cut down RTX 5080 Ti or SUPER.

No actual reason other than greed as the landlord outright owns the entire property and paid the mortgage off decades ago.

As a landlord, I'm going to bite on this: maintenance costs have increased considerably and agents are being <censored>. I got very little income last year. Suffice it to say that you may not be seeing the whole picture.

Now back to the usual rants about GPU prices!

I'm renting this place direct from the landlord and not through an estate agent. As for maintenance, There is none, He's not done anything to the place in 7 years.

So around a 50% boost in performance; let's see by how much they boost the price.

My prediction is a 25% increase in price on the 5090 over the 4090.

I'm not so sure. Remember the £2500 Titan RTX? I don't think that sold very well, and 4090 prices have shifted downwards if anything. Notice too that they haven't brought out a 4090 ti / Super. So I expect the price of the 5090 to remain static. Much will depend upon Intel's Battlemage.

No proof for density improvements 4N vs 4NP. Yes, B100 has around 123MTr/mm2 vs 98MTr/mm2 GH100 but AD102 has 125MTr/mm2. Could be just B100 being more dense packed and GB202 will be at best 130MTr/mm2. So GB202 will need to be 800mm2+~ for 192SM 128MB L2 512bit.
Turing vs Pascal all over again.

5090 will be £2.5K easy.

I kind of hope a 5070 will be an upgrade from a 4080, and that it will be a reasonable price (500 ish), and just stick to mid range now, I'm no hardcore gamer but do like to have a realtively up to date GPU especially for any new features.

Probably 600watts as well then if the 5090 is 192SM

The 5090 will probably be cut down from that, maybe down to like 180 or less and power draw down to 500watt. And then it's about 27% more cores than a 4090.

It will come down to how different are these cores to Lovelace, what changes have they made because if you took Lovelace, gave it gddr7 and 27% more cores you're probably only looking at 15-20% faster gaming performance
