Blackwell sacked

Although, it seems McLeish has put himself in the frame.

I think I'd prefer the Scot than Carver. But if Carver does turn the club around and in 3 years time we've won the champions league I will happily eat my hat. :)

A United fansite reports that Blackie was sacked for gross misconduct:

Kevin Blackwell could be in for a battle with Ken Bates for a pay-off at Leeds after it has emerged he has been sacked for 'gross misconduct.'

Blackwell was supposedly dismissed on Wednesday after a poor run of results but Bates has used comments made by the former manager in papers and on radio as the real reason for his exit.

Blackwell complained about the financial state at Leeds as he struggled to maintain the form of last season and that was seen as undermining the chairman and club.

It will be a massive blow for the former Sheffield United coach, who only signed a three-year contract before the promotion play-offs and thought he would have at the very least the consolation of a golden handshake.

However Bates came up with the 'gross misconduct' verdict as he was dismissed and now there will be some lengthy discussions before there is any cash settlement.

Blackwell has also been banned from returning to the club or training ground and is at his family home near London having been unable to say farewell to his players.

A Leeds spokesman could not confirm or deny the reason for Blackwell's sacking.

Curbishley?
Ranieri?
Hoddle?

I think it's about time Leeds realise that they arent a premiership side, they cant attract world class managers and realise that this time in the championship isn't a "blip".

They should be setting their sights a lot lower, to reflect the team that they are and the level of football that they play.

No one said we were a Premiership side, we are a BIG club though so can attract the big managers. I don't think the one's listed are are world class whatsoever.

What a stupid post.

1. Curbishley has already stated he wouldn't be against a job in the Championship if it was the right situation (enough cash I guess).
2. When was the last time you saw Ranieri managing a club?
3. Hoddle has been at a Championship club a long time, and he's certainly no better than the Champ.
4. Stop trolling.

From what I've just seen I think I'll settle with Carver as manager for now :p

Its like watching a Keegan team.

the players look transformed and healy is now putting them in the back of the net.

That doesn't tell us anything though the fact he can't work for another fortnight and we've hardly rushed to get another manager can only be a good thing.
Except the fact that Papa Smurf says he'd turned down the position - where he says he hasn't been offered it.

That tells me he won't be.
