The plaintiffs' lawyer Jack Thompson was told by a sheriff's deputy that the game and a Sony PlayStation 2 were found at the ranch where the family worked and lived, the suit says.
pfft might of know he would be involved some how, someone should shoot that annoying little get

Soooo, it trained them how to use a gun, funny that, last time i played GTA SA all you needed to do was to press 1 button to auto aim. I wish i had an auto aim button in real life, worlds best sniper? :p

So he committed the murders when he was 14... would this be the same 14 year old who was "beaten 50 times a day and thrown around" from the age of 2? The same 14 year old whose father tried to "force him to have sex with his stepmother"? Its terrible what that GTA does to kids...

I'll try to find a better link for this story, the MSN article has excluded some information.

I played a LOT of Streetfighter 2 when I was younger. I would often find myself firing fireballs at people for fun. Once or twice I dyed my hair orange, painted myself green and stuck my fingers in the socket to be just like Blanka. Ahh, the good old days.

OMGZORZ, sue Capcom :p

The family's lawyer, Jack Thompson, loves this stuff - he's a rather vocal fan of censorship - all in the name of protecting you and I from the evils of the world. He's a waste of oxygen.

He's some reading for you:

I wouldn't be surprised if the family were wallowing in grief when this self-righteous know-it-all called them up and offered them a slice of however many hundred million dollars it is. Go on, call me a cynic.... ;)

I believe so:

“My brother was trying to raise a man out of a boy that was admittedly skipping school and smoking dope and being a juvenile delinquent at times… I’m sure at times he probably crossed the line… Not only did he get spankings with a board or a belt… at times, he had to do push-ups because the spankings weren’t working. When I saw him cross the line, instead of getting five swats he may gave given him seven or eight. When we get to the fine line of corporal punishment and abuse, it’s all about opinion.”

Other witnessed testified that Delbert Posey crushed Cody’s fingers with a pair of pliers and held a hay hook to his groin. Cody told the court that on the night before the murders his father tried to make him have sex with his stepmother and burned him with a heated metal rod when he refused.

Oh god that explains it all then. I can not really give my view on Jack Thompson becuase I will probabilly be banned for ever because of bad language.

also they never knew if the son HAD used the game, only that it was there
its like saying that someones going to go mad because they had accsess to a copy of Quake 4, even if it was kept in a locked closet and he'd never seen it.

it seems its the american trend to sue. they dont care what happend. they dont care who dies., they just want easy money and they think lucky when something like this happens.
