BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

I'm not bothering with it since the sequel has already been out for ages. It's like buying SFIV in 6 months time when super has been out for a while.

The sequel is only coin-op just now. It could easily be this time next year before it gets published in the EU again.

All the big online places are selling a limited edition pre order for about 50 quid right now.
I didn't think I'd bother as I've tried it and I really didn't understand what the bloody hell was going on. It's a very, very pretty game, but just a bit too odd and chaotic for me.

However....... I am a massive sucker for a nice limited edition box set, and the thing that really tempted me was that included is a two hour tutorial DVD with explanations etc, which might help me figure out what's happening!!

Still on the fence right now, but it's likely I'll pick this up.

Yeah it taken us over half a year just for Europe to get the first game (June 2009 for Japan and U.S), and with Continuum Shift console version confirmed for 1st July in Japan, no doubt that could be another long wait for us again.

Just thought I'd say me and my friends just want Guilty Gear back, please :(

(Which it will be, but it needs to be sooner)

The PAL box art looks poor. Anyone who didnt know what BlazBlue is would think its a 3rd person shooter from looking at that box art.

Agreed, box art is poor. Limited edition box art looks ok though. Do we have many BB:ct players here? I've had it since Saturday. Very different mechanics to say SF, but really enjoyable so far.

i think everyone that wanted this game and that has a ps3 picked this up on import a long time ago (me included) great game, better then sf4 imo (and well most fighters are better then sf4 tbh)

takes a while to really crack but thats the art of true fighting game with deep mechanics.

havent played it for a bit but online matches were really where its at, i cant imagine uk sales will be all that great - mainly because the inital buzz has now faded, and the game was released far too late, and lastly the fact that the sequel is not far off!

i call my gf 'boobie lady' because of this game! lol. (its one of the prematch up quotes in the game)

Yeah, really do not understand why they released this so late over here for X360. It was supposed to be out like a month ago, but they kept delaying it each week due to 'busy release schedules'.... Nice timing - release it the same month as SSIV... :p

It's poorly balanced though, SFIV is reasonably well balanced with the exception of one character and he's not totally OP like V-13.

Only other fighter I would put above SFIV is Super Turbo. I don't like Third Strike at all and Tekken 6 sucks monkey balls!

Back to BlazBlue - Carl's infinite/loop for the win.

I'll probably get Continuum Shift but doubt I will really get into it since SSFIV will be getting most the attention and playtime. Nothing really pulls me into BlazBlue either, the characters just do nothing for me. Tekken and Street Fighter are infinitely better in that way but I guess you can't expect it to rival those when you consider how long they've been around in comparison.

i disagree...i think it is perfectly balanced, it just takes a bit of getting used to - i think its defaintly more balanced then sf4 which just has loop hole after loop hole to exploit.

were obviously coming from different pages though especially as you dont like third strike which is argubly the benchmark for fighting games and balancing.
