Blizzard has included an updated DirectX path in the latest beta of its upcoming World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, bringing DX11 to WoW.

What are you thoughts on this and what other improvements would you like to see?

I would like to see WoW getting next-generation graphics on the whole game and not just small effects in the new Cataclysm area.

I dont mind the cartoon like environment but higher quality textures and better higher polygon models would be nice.

Also cant really see anything extra for DX11 on that photo

water reflections should have been in wayy earlier levels of dx, adding it to this doesnt really justify anything :(

ripples look nice, bit too much like oil though xD

I like it, and I think it will look a bit odd if they start adding high res textures and too much fancy post-process effects and whatnot.

They should just leave it as it is...or bring out a new mmo that's actually designed around a next gen engine/gfx & whatnot.

The water effect in that pic looks nice but it looks a bit out of place against the cartoon-style environment.

I kind of know what you mean, looking at that screenshot it doesnt look like the surface items are "in" the water, looks more like they are floating/levitating "on" the water. May be just that screenie though.

Doesnt suit the game at all, im no hardcore wow addict/fan and have only played for about 6 months. But its clear this new dx11 water effect just doesnt suit the rest of the game style.

It's hardly going to make any difference, the game looks really bad compared to any modern game, having said that after playing it for few days you don't really mind the gfx anymore and get used to the way it looks.
