Blu-Ray' are not very clear on my PS3 :(

off topic but did not want to start a new thread. does the ps3 play normal dvds?

also i have just been told it has wifi but as i am at college most websites are blocked./ can you tell me if wifi comes with the ps3?

cheers

Yes it plays normal DVD's and yes WIFI is included as standard (but some wifi routers are trickier than others to connect to the PS3 in this regard, maybe with the firmware updates this issue has been resolved, I use wired anyway so never had a problem)

Depending how your college is set up, sites may still be blocked through wifi as well

damn warbie - yur too fast (-:

@OP, did you get Casino Royale on Blu-Ray as that is considered to be very good quality ?

No sorry - I haven't tried Casino Royal.

But I tried my friend's HD DVD player last night and it was 100% pukka!

So - I know it's not the TV - Just the blu-ray's I tried, were poor quality.

You would have thought that anything on HD would be perfect. Is n't that the point of HD after all?

Well movies for example only run at 24fps... This along with a bit of grain is because our brains are used to seeing movies like this.. If they are pin sharp moving around at smoother frame rates it would look to us like not a movie but a documentary or Eastenders !

Get a non-movie blu-ray for the best 1080P pic

If you want a 100% picture perfect movie you really need either

1 - Digitally recorded at 1080 at source

2 - Digital animation

Because the fact of the matter is, 70mm film is a chemical base negative, and it has grain. You can't get around it, the better your TV and player, the easier it is for you to see the limitation of the original material. It's like listening to Oasis' definitely may be on the radio it sounds great, listen it on a £3000 separates it sounds like a car crash and you can tell its badly recorded.
