Anyone use blue light blocking glasses?

I am looking for clip on ones for my reading glasses.

Can a mod move this to the mobile/tablet section as these are the devices i use....ta

No because it's sold on vague fear mongering and absolutely nothing is promised besides being a blue light filter and letting your assumptions do heavy lifting after priming you with implied but carefully not promised benefits.

Specsavers says they're not touching it with a barge pole: https://www.specsavers.co.uk/glasses/glasses-lenses/do-blue-light-glasses-work

Boots says their "Protect Plus Blue Lenses reduce exposure to harmful blue light by up to 20%" and they say they've checked with trading standards that they can't be sued about their promotional materials which is just what you want to hear: https://www.boots-uk.com/newsroom/features/boots-opticians-blue-light-response/

Vision Express will happily sell you blue light filtering lenses, telling you there "could" and "may" be some value and that people who are not opticians had good opinions. Conspicuously and legally absent is their own opinion: https://www.visionexpress.com/glasses/buyers-guide/blue-light-lenses

These are professional opticians who will get lenses made to fit your prescription exactly and they won't put their name behind stating a health benefit for stuffing a blue light filter in there.

At best they are offering you the opportunity to buy what you want to buy.

In which case most modern phones and tablets have a blue light reduction option built in?
My Galaxy S20 FE 5G:

My phone has a 'Night light' setting but i dont see any results with it.

What about apps that help regarding blue light etc?

I dont have a PC these days at the moment. Everything is done on my mobile. Looking to get a tablet again soon though, when i decide which one! Lol

I use (desktop) f.lux. There may be better/other software available out there, but I know from experience,
that if I don't use the blue light filter in the evening, I get headaches quite fast. For me, it's a must-have.

As for mobile, I guess I don't use my phone or laptop for long enough in one stint to become aware of any problem,
though, as suggested, the in-built filter seems to work fine.

I did also buy some blue light filter glasses, though I can't recall the make. I check out the details tomorrow (later today) if you wish?

The make is Cyxus. :)

What phone are you using? Pixel calls it night light too and there's an intensity slider. Make sure the schedule is set up correctly or disabled if you want it on all the time.

What problem is it that you have with blue light?

I use my mobile for everything as i dont have a PC at present or a tablet...

I sometimes get headaches. I suffer with insomnia and eyes water a lot after being on mobile for hours at night.

At the risk of asking a stupid question, how do you know its the blue light, and not because you are getting eye strain from looking at tiny screens all day?

You are correct. I dont know. I am going by what i read about these problems.

I have had my eyes checked a few times and all is ok with them. I use the correct strength reading glasses too.
