Hi Guys,

Need a little help. I have an existing 74gb Raptor with vista 64 on it. I have just bought a 1 tb F1 and my plan was to set up a dual boot.

So i booted off my dvd drive with the XP install disk and the windows setup started like normal. I was able to load all drivers but when the status bar changed to "Windows is now starting", it just hung for a while and then i got a blue screen.

I assume that the Vista 64 installation was conflicting with the XP install process. Will i have remove the Raptor, install XP on the F1 and then format the raptor from within XP?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

id unplug the raptor, install XP then plug the raptor back in and dont format it

you may have to edit the boot.ini file to get the OS menu on boot up but thats pretty easy to do, lots of guide on the net :)

OK, *UPDATE* - I just unplugged my Raptor and plugged in my F1. Under AHCI config, the bios appears to be picking up the drive fine. I then get into the windows setup, get past the loading of the drivers and then right at the point at which it says, setup is starting windows it hangs and then eventually blue screens!

I'm now thinking it's AHCI. Also, i have reset my clock to 2400Mhz with a vcore of 1.3. This has had no effect.

Should i format and partition the drive in windows and try again?
