Bluescreens since new CPU!

Ok, installed the Optimiser, lets see how it runs now. You reckon the time stamp problem might have been causing the thing to BSOD?

I doubt it but it might be related such as nvidia ide/storage drivers causing problems due to timing issues.

Yeah that's true as recently on here there have been number of people having problems after upgrading to X2 CPUs.

I'm not sure how recent you installed it, but when I first got my AMD x2 (albeit along with new OS, motherboard, ram) I got a lot of bluescreens for the first month. In other words, it might just be the metal and chips or whatever taking time to stabalise?

I think its more a case of the transistors sensing your frustration and deciding to cut you a break..

;)

Tbh it might just be that you applied some update or automatic update etc.. that sorted the issue.

Well I was thinking in the same way as how I had to power on the toaster a few times after I first got it before I could toast bread in it :P (y'know, so the fumes or whatever don't get into the toast...)

I swapped between x2 and single core a couple of times when trying to work out which of my 939 mobos was better, i never had any trouble with them, never had to reinstall windows(i seriously doubt you need to do that) all i needed to do was reset my bios and reinstall my mobo drivers and all was ok

3200+ -> X2 4200+

Just made an upgrade from my 3200 to an x20 4200 today, I've only installed the cpu drivers, as the hotfix and dual core optimizer lead to the computer crashing once it reached the desktop, blue screen. Touch wood with only the Dual Core Drivers it seems to be operating well *hopes*.
