Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

Think it's been like that for a while that you don't need to register your pc nic addy. I think you can check in the my selfcare to see if you have been upgraded. Can't rememebr for life of me where I read it.

JUst got an email about extra speed and almost messed myself, didn't say it was being done today though just about PGGuard :(

I was cheeky enough to email them asking when the upgrade might take place and sugesting if they tell me I won't keep phoning them up, not that I would bother :D

I was reading on blueyonder support ng about the older 3100 surfboard modems. One of the blueyonder replyied saying basically no idea. A few people replied saying yes it will.

Then I read on digital spy that it will support it but not full amount. Guess we will just have to wait and see hehe.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet. There status page now has a maintenance section displaying the latest maintenance news, I think this is a new feature?

I assume these are the upgrades-

today's maintenance:
New Malden uBR upgrades 10:00 7 hours
New Malden uBR upgrades 10:00 2 days

The Uddingston area has been upgarded on the 21st, the West and South London and Crawley areas will be upgraded aroud the 29th September.

The Midlands and South regions will be completed by early 2006.

Customer who use the USB connection for their Broadbnad may not receive the 10mb service as the output on the USB connection is 8.5/9mb so TW reccomend you change to an Ethernet connection.

If a customer has the Motorolla 3100 modem then they WILL NOT get higher than 4mb as the modem does not support this. Customers with this modem can call customer care and arrange a FOC change to a different model.

Hey guys, just been on the phone to support at telewest, and for those that live in the north east should upgraded after the 29th of september, so for me it'll be early october or there abouts..

For those of you in london, it's getting done as I type(lucky gits :D ) and should be done by the 29th of September.

Also one thing a friend said to me was there could be a problem with my modem(I have a Webstar, which is nearly 3 years old), but it's fine. There are only problems at the moment with the Motorola 3100's, which will be replaced.

EDIT Telewest support now know when the updates are being implemented, so if you want to ring them up they can tell you :D

EDIT Beaten by poster above :D

Yeah, I have a SB3100 and I read that the max I'll get is about 8.5-9Mb/s from it. Not much of a problem, but if they're replacing them for free, then cool. :)

my router is only 10base-t on the WAN side anyway.
