Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

Can someone tell me what the ULR for blueyonder newsgroups is, i.e the one i need to put in microsoft outlook and others.

You lot are lucky im in Plymouth and I havent even been scheduled so i dont have a clue when i'm getting an upgrade!

What's the best pay-for/subscription download website for UK?

I've been contemplating paying for a service such as fileplanet for ages but now seems a good point to take the plunge if I want to take advantage of 10Mmbs (when we finally get it in Solihull).

Fileplanet is a US company correct? will the speeds in the UK reach 10mbps? If not, have we got a UK equivalent?
 
according to the NG, newton abbott (my local ex.) is being upgraded today. does this mean an increase in speeds?

hopefully something will get done, speeds have been very poor recently

Am sure you'll get upgraded soon. My speeds were very low before I got mine updated.
 
hope so, been poor for about 2 weeks i reckon, maybe slightly more...

4 people in one house trying to use what seems to be a 512k connection, things can get a little slow :p

edit: downloading that weatherman vid from GD, at 18KB/s :(

how soon after your area was upgraded did you get the speed increase?
 
thats good news if they are at newton abbot already then hopefully Plymouth cannot be far off. On and off subject, i rang telewest to downgrade my phoneline.... So they gave me 2mb line upgrade from 1mb and knocked 7 quid off me bill. Basically they did'nt want me to downgrade

Thanks thedoors! According to the tekmobile website i'm connected to newton Abbot too so that seems good news. Hopefully we may be upgraded very soon then!!

Im on UBR01 as well...aye!

No worries :)
I just rebooted my CM but no sign of 10mbit just yet (fingers crossed for next week!)
