Blueyonder/Telewest speed upgrades

my area hasn't even been posted yet, looks like i'll be the last out of everyone to be done :( (btw area = sandwell in birmingham)

it mentions birmingham but i dont think that covers me as they seem to be listing the UBR's and according to that tekmobile site i'm on sandwell
 
I think that anyone in and around the Trowbridge/Bath area has been done this morning, or is currently being done. My connection has been down for just over an hour and certainly seems a fair bit quicker since the downtime - whats the best way to max out my connection?

I use getright, its a download manager. make sure you use 4 connections and your download speed should reach its max.

It was a bit weird.. the whole of Trowbridge was down today. According to the BY site this was due to 'noise on the network'.. however also today I noticed they put in a maintenance job for doing the upgrade work as well, so I'm not sure if the problems today were due to the upgrade or not :confused:

Anyway, my modem has changed QAM from 64 to 256 but I'm still on 2mbit atm.

Don't bother, it'll be an issue on the network, they won't have accidentally upgraded you to two and everyone else to four. Give them time to iron out the kinks.

Yeah, definately a bit odd that one. However, they havent posted in the newsgroups or on their status page whether the maintainance was completed successfully or not, which they have done for every other maintainence upgrade.

My feeling that the connection was faster after the upgrades was just an illusion as well :(. Still on 4mb here.
 
is anyone having problems hitting 10mb in the gillingham area ME7 since the upgrade my by is all over the show it's between 2mb to 6mb.

Is anyone in Gillingham hitting 10mb? I am on cable ubr05
