I just been on the phone to telewest for about 45 minutes!
In Jan they gave me £30 credit because I was paying £35 and still only on 4mb. They said this was a goodwill thing of £10 per month for Dec Jan and Feb.
I just rang them to try and get the same for March and April and went through to six different areas!!!
One lady was telling me the £30 I was given was for March April and May and she just wouldn't accept what I was telling her.
I just got angry and said please put me through to disconnections! She did and i got a Geordie fella who was ace, He knew what was going on on what my problem was and gave me the next 3 months service at £17.50 per month (half price)
He said this will take me into Junes bill which by then I'll be on the 10mb anyway!

Apparently the Walsall area is all set to go on the 17th April!

Seems to me if you want anything done you need to threaten to cancell!!!

I've just had my line upgraded. Rebooted my router yesterday and ive gone to 2 mb.

Yep, I'm in Birmingham, just done a speed test on adslguide.org.uk, im not getting more than 700kbps (6megish) when it should be 10meg though.

You have to bear in mind that it is a contended service and Birmingham has one of the most over subscribed networks.

whoo hoo! my speed just went up from 1 meg to 4! now to find out my full bandwidth

Well they cut it a bit fine for Brum but for once when they said by the end of March thet meant it. Makes a change :rolleyes:

Now lets see how stable it is over the coming weeks.

With the old Surfboard Sb3100 i got max 3885Kbps.....it was changed this afternoon for an SB5101E and I got 9985Kbps, so I am well pleased (as are my mates in the area....lucky for Telewest as we were all considering moving services elsewhere as it was taking so long).

How are you getting those speeds? Im on a surfbord sb4200 and only getting 1200kbps :O or have I misunderstud your post

His post was in bits/sec rather than byte/sec.

10000 / 8 = ~1250 k/s
