Can you post a few speedtests from Adslguide please.

When u have filled in ** email addy, then click go, and it will take u to terms and conditions. It will then tell u the price. As in my post, it said £50, so I cancelled and it said no upgrade was done.

Hmmm not sure about this.... try this page then, it's the 'change my services for existing customers page' it also comes up with £35 for Broadband Elite 4Mb. It does for me anyway. Hope they don't try and charge me £50.

I've been advised by a CS rep that, despite the £35 on that page, you'd actually get charged £50 if you used it to upgrade. Whether this is true or not is anyone's guess. Basically upgrading to 4Mb right now is a gamble. You might get charged £50, you might get charged £35.

Yep this link certainly suggests £35 as the price. Will fill it in and send it and see what happens.

Well looks like I've been upgraded somewhat, my 2mb connection has turned into a 4mb connection as far as I can tell. I thought I was supposed to be getting 10mb though but still, 4mb is pretty good.

This was posted on blueyonder.discussion.hi-speed earlier today so hopefully won't get screwed for £50, I certainly will kick up up a fuss if I do :

'Having seen some of the threads in here I thought it would be
worthwhile to clarify the position on pricing.

All existing blueyonder elite customers, regardless of region, will
see the new prices in their bills for November services. Due to the
quantity of bills, bills are sent out gradually over a month. Bills
with the new prices will start being sent out from October 25.

We are aware that selfcare is yet to be updated with the new pricing.
Ideally this would have been updated at the same time as the
'evenfaster' page on the website, which is the place to go to answer
your questions on the speed uplifts. Unfortunately the update to
selfcare has been delayed due to some implementation issues, and this
should be updated within the next week.

Any customers who have not yet had their speed uplifts and choose to
upgrade to the top blueyonder elite tier (4Mb) via selfcare will take
advantage of the new £35 price for the blueyonder elite service.

More information on the speed uplifts can be found at
http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/evenfaster

Regards,

Alex

2mb doesnt go up to 10mb

YES it does!

EDIT - What is going to happen?

We will be making the following changes to your service:

blueyonder broadband - 512k becomes 2Mb

Currently our introductory service runs at up to 512K. This will become up to 2Mb, that's 4x faster at no extra cost.

In addition we are doubling the upstream speed (the speed at which you can attach photos and files to the internet) to up to 256k.

blueyonder broadband complete - 1Mb becomes 4Mb

Our standard service currently has a speed of up to 1Mb. This will become a super-fast up to 4Mb service, that's 4x faster than the current speed at no extra cost.

We are also increasing the upstream speed to up to 384k from 128k.

blueyonder broadband elite - 2Mb and 4Mb become an amazing 10Mb

Our elite services with speeds of either 2Mb or 4Mb will both be increased, to up to 10Mb.

The broadband elite- 2Mb service will also benefit from an increase in upstream speed to up to 384k.

The 10Mb service will cost only £35. Customers on the current 4Mb service will benefit from the new £35 price from October/ November.

Ooh, didnt realise. Hardly 'fair' to those paying for the 4meg for the last however-many months. Maybe they should have had 12 or 16meg.

I would disagree. 'They' were paying for 4 mbit which is what they were getting. Now they are paying for 10 mbit which is the same as what the 2 mbit people will be paying, seems quite fair to me.

Yeah I thought it was supposed to be 10mb, could've had something to do with this new tv teleport thing weve just got where you can choose to watch programs when you want, hopefully I may have, yet to be fully upgraded.

Hold on..paying £50 a month for 4meg vs whatever the price was for 2meg. Yet both get upgraded to 10meg and are then paying the same.

Confusing myself i think here. But it doesnt seem very fair to me.

:D

Of course its fair, you paid for what you got at the time  Now everyone gets the same they pay the same.

MB

Yeh, but it's a upgrade..it woulda been nicer if they'd shown some appreciation for us 4meggers and the £50 a month we put in to their company...and stuff. Oh well. Gonna be good anyway.

damnit they are so annoying!!! just spoke to telewest and they will NOT let me have 4mb broadband for £35 but £50!!! even though i pointed them to the website that says £35 grrrrrrrrrrr by the way bradford area is going to be 20 december.

Yes, but as I posted in the newsgroup, the two following paragraphs contradict each other. The first says you won't see the new prices until the November bill, whilst the second says you'll get the new price straight away.
