If you upgrade from 2 to 4 via the self-care pages you'll get it at £35. This applies to everyone and has been confirmed by the support people on the newsgroups.

The selfcare pages still say it will cost you £50 but just ignore that.

Just back online after a week of no service since the upgrade.

I was upgraded to 10megs, but here's the rub. Aparently the webstar modems don't seem to be able to cope with the upgrade and as in my modems
case they give up the ghost, failing to sync after the speed change. The engineer told me that he has spent all week replacing them.
So if your due for the upgrade and you have a Webstar modem sitting on your desk make sure you have a modem handy :D

Now the prowd owner of a Motorola instead :)

The Webstars should certainly be capable of 10Mb in that they have a 100Base-T connection on them and can handle the speed. This is the first I've heard of them going pop after the upgrade though, which is interesting.

I have heard of loads of problems with the Webstars generally though and those having their modems replaced are generally desperate to get a Motorola SB5100, but it all depends on what the engineer has on his van at the time and how accomodating he is :)

I dread the day my trusty SB4100 goes bang, and I'll have an awful wait to see if I get another Motorola or a dreaded Webstar.

It should be capable of the speed... but it didn't :p

Right now i'm just chuffed to have it working ... DU meter was just showing 1.2mB per second on a newsgroup download

Count yourself lucky matey.

I've been getting 20kb/s for the past week.

I should be getting 120kb/s.

Ocuk Forums takes about 15 seconds to load up :(

Tunbridge Wells here, still no joy with connection, its really annoying its not even close to 4mb.

I'm from Speldhurst in Tunbridge wells, im stuck on 2MB and it doesnt look like they will be upgrading the Langton exchange for at least another year, and we cant get cable, but I cant really complain when some people dont even have 1MB. Where abouts in TW are you from?

P.S) The Tunbridge Wells exchange is due to have ADSL2+ which will deliver 24MB in May 2006.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one. For quite a few weeks now web browsing has been really slow and dl speed has been shameful.

Yep, one minute it will be normal speed and will be getting top speeds, but then it will suddenly drop to dial up speeds.

Might phone up and try to get some compensation :(
