Hi,

I asked a few months ago on here about 330's however i decided to keep my car a little longer. However this weekend ive been given a 318d (e90 shape) courtesy car. Whilst its underpowered and very laggy in its delivery its a very nice place to be and made my Clio 182 feel somewhat un-insulated and basic.

So im now considering a 330 e46 again. (Ideally face lift although im not sure if my budget will stretch that far yet).

Does anyone have any pictures of both a non msport car and msport car as im struggling to tell the difference...if someone could also list the differences that would be brilliant.

Are there any other desirable options/specs i should be looking for?

Thanks,

Russ

saloon i assume?

If so, ill start it :)

the prefacelift that rg-tom posted had the Msport Kit. That's why it looks aggressive. The facelist shown above is the standard body kit.

Just in case you got confused.

I think you are the confused one - he hasn't posted any prefacelift cars, both of those are facelift Saloons.

Am i right in thinking that in the e46 330ci coupes there was the following models-

330ci Pre-Facelift Non M Sport
330ci Pre Facelift M Sport

330ci Facelift Non M Sport
330ci Facelift M Sport

If so could someone post me some pics of each one and explain the differences to me please?

Ive been trying to find out some information on the cars but alls google seems to churn up is reviews on how smooth the engine is.

Could anyone recomend a good owners club for the e46 coupes?

Thanks,

Russ

There was Sport and non Sport until circa 2005 when Sport was renamed M Sport for no apparent reason with no changes to spec. Virtually all Coupes are therefore Sport not M Sport.

There i no specific Coupe owners club, why would there be, the Coupe isn't some sort of special amazing thing compared to the rest of the E46 range. Try http://www.bmwland.co.uk?

Sorry, im half asleep atm i meant a forum with a great deal of e46 owners. I appreciate the coupe and saloon are virtually the same in all ways other than design.

So in that case ill be looking for a sport. Ive noticed the sports have nicer seats, more bucket like than the standard flat seats. Are there any differences to the suspension etc?

Yes, it has M-Tech suspension, bodykit, seats, wheels, steering wheel, anthracite headlining and dechrome and Sports exhuast.

Thats that decided then. My buying criteria is now a manual, sport 330ci. Anything else that is desireable?

Seems the majority of cars are automatics unfortunately, however i guess this is to be expected on a class of car such as a BMW.

I'd definitely want Leather seats, preferably heated - the Alcantara isn't very nice IMO.

Xenon headlights, the Harmon/Kardon sound system and Satnav are all desirable as well.

Harmon Kardon isn't that great really, the BMW hi-fi option is actually considered to be better.

If you don't mind high miles then the following looks like a nicely looked after and well specced manual 330i sport, I would offer less though:
