BMW 330i - Is this dent easy to fix?

Yeah to be fair I don't mind spending an extra £500 for a really nice example, but also don't want to get 'ripped off'. I need one in 3 weeks as the clutch on my Primera has gone and I'm driving to Cornwall for work then. Might be tempted to get a hire car to take down so I can make sure I don't jump for a car to make sure I've got one.

It took me 6 months to find mine - if you find what seems like the right one don't lose it for the sake of a few quid. As they get older genuinely nice examples without a suspect past are harder and harder to find. You want a genuine 1 owner, 2 perhaps if the previous owner is a nice chap, car. None of this 6 people from new Linglong rubbish because it will just bite you in the future.

A good BMW is one of the finest cars you can buy. A bad one is a complete nightmare.

With respect to the parking sensor, are they easy to change? I would have thought if they guy already bought a spare and it was easy to fit he'd have fitted it himself.

Sorry to hi jack the thread, what's all this torn sub frame talk? I cannot watch the vid as work block youtube/streaming media.

Would also be interested to hear about how easy the PDC sensor is to replace, mine has recently been working intermittently, I know which one it is.

Well the car wasn't very well looked after so decided to give it a miss. It had curbed alloys and a few dents around the place. The guy had a fully stamped service book but only the last invoice from BMW. Just didn't seem like he cared about the car much which isn't what I want from a seller!

You did the right thing. If the car doesnt feel right, walk away. You are 'buying' the previous owner as much as you are the car, thats why I prefer to buy cars the owner has had for a long time as you can get a pretty good feel for how the car has been looked after.

Thanks for the info Nick. Not too sure whether it was just one of them that was broken to be honest, as it just made a long beep when putting the car into reverse and then none of them worked!

There is actually an easy way to tell. Don't start the car up but put the key to the 2nd click on the ignition and put the gear in reverse. Walk to the back of the car and listen to each of the sensors - the ones that are working will make a clicking noise, the duff one will be silent. The black strip just pulls off and you can replace them by pulling them out and disconnecting them. Usually around £20 on eBay.

If none of them click, you're looking at the control unit which is more expensive, iirc around £200 or so - may be cheaper now.
