i normally subscribe to that adage too!but with mine being a 63 reg f32, and having NBT_B, and the latest ones having NBT_O, they must've fixed stuff in between releases...

They are talking about media/telephone updates in that thread, you can check on the bmw updates site to see if there is an update for your car. I did mine I think last year.

@IAmATeaf i've done the media update for my car already.
as you say, the BMW techs don't normally do it unless there's a reason to do so...so I may use this as an excuse...
or maybe the clunking with the older adaptive suspension software, which my car does actually suffer from

Just tell them tour idrive is randomly restarting, that’s what I told when they updated my car, they also then did another update when the car needed a new steering rack.

Z4 Club out the front
Had 2 or 3 Z4MR, 1x Z4MC, 2x Alpinas and my hairdressers 35iS.
The new Z4....
Interior is obviously a big update, but the E89 is 10 years old now so it should be? Apart from that, as an owner of 2 previous Z4's it's a bit MEH from me! Think the new exterior is pretty boring, it's completely lost the rear arch haunch from previous models and it has no presence at all. M40i hasn't even brought the drivetrain forwards really. Dissapointed! Think the Supra is going to destroy it. Oh and it’s got fake air vents, sinful.
Will post some more pics of the much more interesting other cars in the spotted thread!

don't think there's a count down. just says service due and date in red once you've passed april
It just means get it done in April.
I liked the previous one as it was fairly unique in the BMW range. I don't think anything else had the circular controls or the flip up screen. In particular I loved the interior tweaks for the Design Pure Traction version. That's not to say that BMW won't do something similar with this revision of the Z4.
But why would you compare how special it is compared to the previous model? Of course the interior is better, it’s 10 years better. But it’s just not as interesting or special as the competition and doesn’t seem ‘different’ vs any other BMW (like the previous one did).
You clearly didn't read the actual quote above [TW]Fox's post that he was replying to, where it said the new interior isn't a patch on the previous version.
