BMW and M Power Owners

a quick google suggests that the standard LEDs are also less powerful than the adaptive LEDs :confused:

The non adaptive lights on the 3 series use less LEDs as they only use the bottom portion of the unit, the adaptive headlights use both top/bottom helps spot them as normal dipped beam uses the top portion which is the opposite of the non adaptive lights.

My Z4 Xenons are definitely better then the 3 series LEDs I had. BUT it’s all academic really because you can’t see anything with all the SUVs flying towards you anyway.

I love the adaptive xenons on my F10 LCI, although I've not driven a model with adaptive LEDs for comparison to comment on that. 95% of the time, the beam lits up the road ahead and to the sides of the car perfectly, with only occasional delay that causes other road users to think I'm flashing them to pull over.

It does tend to make other road users slow down in front of me at night to way below the speed limit a lot of the time, which is mildly annoying but also amusing. :p

Everyday's a school day on here, I didn't realise some of the same model cars had different LED patterns/reflectors etc. I had Adaptive LEDs on the 340i and also have them on the F10 M5. I am sure that they are better on the F10 (however the F10 adaptive LEDs aren't quite as good as the same system on the W212 facelift E63AMG), but I only had the 340i for about 8 weeks so I don't remember too well.

The LEDs on the F10 (and F01) really lift the front end of the car aesthetically, IMHO, particularly the 7er. There's a black SE that I see opposite work a lot that has the LEDs and it looks really quite desirable.

I was always quite happy with Adaptive Xenons on previous BMW cars; I used to throw the E90/E87 into corners to 'see the front lights move'. I think the Xenons on the S2000 were sharper/brighter than any of the BMWs I've had, though.

So far since I’ve had my e90 335d I’ve replaced;

oil + oil filter
Red hot side boost pipe + seals
Egr, intake manifold side seal, seal between egr and throttle body, seal between throttle body and intake pipe. I initially thought the intake manifold gaskets were leaking/rear crank seal but it turned out to be the seals having gone and oil leaking past them on boost.
Glowplug module.
Clamps on exhaust as whoever fitted the old ones they would end up touching once hot. This caused a nasty vibration.
Coolant expansion tank as the plastic leveller broke.

I also noticed mpg to be rather poor. Finally replaced fuel filter and it’s much better. Probably 5mpg up.

Also replaced some missing engine cover screws and screws on the back of some trims. Other than that it’s been ok.

Seeing a lot of "normal" BMW's lately with the black twin slat M grilles on (minus the M badge).

Where do we stand on this, is it terrible?
