BMW and M Power Owners

This really has no spec, and isn't M Sport, but it's an awesome colour and is AUC.

Surely a better option than a tatty one with no history etc?

Tiny screen unit in that one, the ones I have been looking at have wider screens.

I did actually fly past sytner BMW on Friday and they said they could transfer approved used from other locations , interesting .. if the right car come up I'd rather go with BMW used approved as they would put in a 12 month warranty.

Look at my previous post and the question around auto and flappy paddle ,

Get an AUC for the peace of mind. Or private if the car is well cared for. I wouldn't trust any of these so-called independent dealers personally.

Paddles you probably won't use, but the ZF8 gearboxes are fine and generally reliable. I wouldn't want a manual in a car like this.

You need to remember though that if you buy a dodgy one, you're talking thousands to fix a lot of these things, so try and get AUC if you can. You can extend the warranty too.

I have the paddles in my 428i. I rarely use them. Trying to remember the last time I did and it was probably before Christmas when I shifted down twice for an overtake, otherwise it’s Comfort and automatic.

Thanks I will take a look

Why wouldn't you want a manual ? Generally a 6 speed manual for a 3 piece clutch kit you would be looking at around £1200. Would it be the same sort of thing In this ?

Why is everyone seemingly choosing autos these days ? If I go on auto trader there is tons of autos coming up ? Are BMW making more manual than autos these days or is this people wanting to sell the auto for a reason?

I'll also look at AUC

A replacement ZF8 gearbox at BMW would be north of £10k...? If that's what you meant.

I generally dislike manual outside of something like an M2, auto is just better - but this is all personal preference of course. The majority of 4 Series will be auto.

Why is everyone seemingly choosing autos these days ?
Because they're nicer to drive, especially in things like a 3 or 4 series being used for commuting
If I go on auto trader there is tons of autos coming up ?
Because they vastly outnumbered manuals when sold new

lol, absolutely not, if anything you're more likely to find you simply can't spec a manual these days

Once you've driven a decent auto you will wonder why you ever took so long to convert.

The ZF8HP is pretty bombproof and is used in so many cars that any problems would be well known about now.

Now that the latest 1 series has gone auto only, the only way to get a manual BMW is the M2, M3 or M4.
