BMW and M Power Owners

I can ignore that then, no MOTs in Jersey. Is it really correct that I have 33k to the next inspection? That would take 10 years here!!

Yes but it wouldn't take 10 years as its 33k or 2019, whichever is soonest.

The car will be due an oil service before then anyway so its hardly outrageous.

The limiters can be removed, but the question is, why would you want to remove it..? Naughty naughty! ;)

Just wondered, aren't the Autobahns unlimited? Was wondering with something as powerful as that 760LI if the power gradually drops off as you reach the limit or if you're still accelerating hard does it hit a power wall?

From any videos I've watched, it keeps pulling and pulling and pulling and then stops dead at 155.

Just to put that into perspective that's 0.5 second quicker than the more powerful s65 saloon (621hp and 1000nm). Assume that's down to weight and Bmws investment in carbon fibre.

Well, i've just joined the ranks, picked up a 2005 e90 325i (in beautiful condition for the age).

One thing i didnt bank on was the lack of bluetooth audio (i listen to music constantly when driving and its something i miss sorely (at least when i'm cruising on the motorway, back roads the engine distracts me))

Does anyone have any notions on the most subtle way to sort this? A breif google seems to suggest that a bluetooth reciever plugges into the aux and hidden under the armrest is the only way to go but i figured i'd ask here in case anyone has any ways it could be done.

That's the way I've gone for with my Volvo. There are lots of different make of the same thing but I went of this one.

It works flawlessly, soon as the car starts, it pairs with the phone and just press Play on the phone and music comes out of the car.

Feels like you've slammed on the brakes!

On the face of it, that M3 doesn't sound half bad, it'll be interesting to see what you think having seen it in the flesh.

Nothing wrong with having a look ;)

I agree: take a look, including the service history ect. Obtain necessary insurance cover if required and take the car for a good long test drive.

I went to look at two other localish ones (Up for £12K and £13K) before heading off to see the one mentioned earlier..

Short version, bought it as a weekend car/project for £8K

Seeing the first two M3's earlier in the day initially the problem was one Fox will appreciate, getting into a car that's design is 17 odd years old is a bit of a culture shock.. The first two M3's sounded tappety/rough and had a lot of clonking going on through the drivetrain, with engines that sounded great on full song but ultimately made me feel uneasy..

The final one I ended up buying (not straightforward.. read on)
The car was very very clean outside, had a very quiet vanos, and didn't sound remotely as noisy as the other two, but had a few issues that let it down..
- Front seats (namely drivers) let it down for me, not completely ripped or worn through, but stiching coming apart on the bolster, and silver grey leather if neglected gets dirty..
- One a long test drive, everything was peachy (that engine.. wow!!!), but it did one 5 second period of misfiring at very low revs, the amber warning light flashed, but it quickly stopped misfiring and was perfect for the rest of the drive.. I phoned a specialist, he was helpful going through possible issues, and after checking a few things, he thought it most likely to be oxygen sensor or coil packs
- Windscreen was scratched badly (weird!)
- slight drivetrain clonk when dipping clutch in first, not as bad as the other two, but I have no other reference to know how good/bad any example is)..
- Factory Nav had a smear of dead pixels (although all worked)..

Based on all that, I went negiotiating quite hard, the only way I was going to do this was as a weekend/project car, something to tinker with, and with M3 bills in my mind, I was quite resolute and stuck to £8K which gives me loads of cash for a couple of really big bills and something to tinker/fix/make better which I enjoy..

Guys just wondering if you could point me in the right direction?

I have a 2013 f21 that has the idrive and the standard Bluetooth. This is only for telephone and not for bluetooth audio. I have no combox in the back. I wonder what I setup I would need to get bluetooth audio working with the setup.
