BMW assistance! Calling Fox basically...

That second one looks fantastic - genuinely nice looking car that, right iDrive, BMW warranty... best one in this thread for sure.

It's the nicest car you've posted so far. The interior is wonderful, the same as my old E92 335i. Annoyingly its 7k miles over the limit for the cheaper BMW warranty and being a 57 plate it's almost certainly an N53 engined car so the warranty would be have been a nice way to enjoy the better fuel economy of the N53 without the headaches of injection system issues.

Same interior as my current 328Ci!

Humour me - 57 plates had a different (supposed improved) engine with the BMW efficient changes? But they have issues?

First one is an auto. Having never owned/really driven an auto I'd be wary of going for one. Second one is 220miles away and a private sale. Distance isn't too much of a concern if the car is perfect, but not sure on a private sale!

For me the private sale is a plus point not a negative point. I don't really like random independent dealers - you don't really get the comeback you think you do a lot of the time so whats the point? Whereas you can pop and see a nice private seller, have a cup of tea, chat about the car, etc. Plus that one has BMW Warranty - a million times better than anything a random garage will offer you.

200 miles is nothing.

Got to agree with this!

Whilst totally different price wise (nigh ten times less!)when I was hunting for my e46 touring I found plenty at dealers with that usual warranty written on bog paper, I eventually found the best I'd seen by a very long way but instead of being tarted up on some dealers forecourt, it was sat on the nice drive of a well to do retired Gent, I duly had that cup of Tea with him and decided to buy the car from him, great experience and the car - thus far - has matched what I expected, it's not let me down once and the old boy still phones to ask how I'm going on with it! He really misses the car....

The irony for me the car I bought was the cheapest by a long way of the ones I looked at and by far, the best condition.

The OP has, for a 400 mile round trip, the car he wants, in budget ( probably negotiable on price too) and a cast iron warranty.

Best of both worlds!

Definitely worth the 400 mile trip for the right car. Nothing wrong with a private sale if all the clues lead to a genuine car and seller.

And as you're buying the car with a full BMW warranty it takes a lot of the stress out of private sales because the worry about there being mechanical faults or bodge jobs to get the car sold is is massively reduced.

Agreed with all of the above. You would be mad to pass up the possibility of that car just because it's a private seller. The BMW warranty makes it miles better than any of the others from independent garages. And way ahead of MOST of the private sales too.

And also agree 200 miles is nothing. I flew 500 miles for my S4.
