BMW E92 M3's

Maybe DAB only works well in big cities like, well, London and the M25 :p

I find its actually much worse in built up areas. I don't rate it and wouldn't pay anything extra to have it.

I dont think Id ever want DAB, I only listen to 3 or 4 stations. Must have options for me are:

telematics
heated seats
EDC
front armrest
bluetooth
upgraded stereo

I have DAB in daily driver, and I really like the extra clarity and also the availability of Planet Rock. :)

I'd want comfort access, front pdc, USB audio, Folding mirrors, sunroof, DCT.

Not fussy at all tbh :p

Comfort access is a gimmick. Sunroof loses the carbon roof and is therefore the rarest thing ever.

USB is irritating - it's so good, such a cheap option yet the majority of E92's dont seem to have it. And it's a ridiculous retrofit!

Mine has a radio/CD but since August 2010 when I picked it up I've only used either for about 2 mins, haha. Just can't get used to music after 7 years in the CSL (which had no radio). These days I find it a massive distraction/irritant.

Maybe your car is broken? DAB in the M5 is absolutely fine - the only annoying thing is the top of the hour bug when listening to Radio 2 but it only seems to do it occasionally.

Don't think so, it only drops out when i go into 'dipped' areas of the countryside where the reception of DAB trails off. Its just highly annoying that being a digital signal its either off, or on when that happens.

My comfort access is utterly hopeless. I'm getting it looked at but I hear I'm not alone in this issue. 90% of the time it refuses to acknowledge the key on my person thus it won't unlock the door. Sometimes I can't even start the car without taking the key out of my pocket and waving it around the car.

Lately however the car has been starting fine with the key in my pocket, only for the car to throw up a warning saying that it now can't detect the key, despite the fact I started the car with it not 10s prior.....

Would disagree about comfort access. Its one of those things that doesnt seem to have much of a point until you actually have it, then you really appreciate it.

The only thing i wish it would do is lock the car a bit quicker, there is usually a second or two delay.

Comfort access sounds like one of those great features (like EDC) that are a minor annoyance when you are inside a warranty..... and a reason to poke your own eyeballs out in a fury when you find out how much it costs to fix when you are outside of warranty.

I'd hate to think how much EDC would cost to repair/replace outside warranty. The old E34 M5 3.8's with the nurburgring electronic suspension cost so much to replace from BMW, people would end up fitting adjustable coilovers for a fraction of the cost.

I drive a new Mazda 6 (work business trips) with comfort access - It really is a cool feature to have and as above, you really appreciate it once you've used it a few times!

The keyless access & go on the Jag is superb, now I've got it I really love it. Just leave my keys safe in my rucksack and pull the door handle and it opens, press the button on any of the doors and it locks and push the start button and the car fires up.

BMW Comfort access is the absolute worst of the keyless entry and go systems. The systems in Lexus, Audi and Jaguar all work flawlessly. The BMW one is hopeless and I'm glad I don't have it even though I've had it on previous non BMW cars.

Ive never seen the other systems at work, how do they differ?

They differ in the fact that all the other brands keyless systems WORK, whereas BMW's one chooses to work as and when it feels like it.

Is that a BMW design feature ;)
