erm JBS...... :p

if your that good at your job, wait a few months for more bonuses and get a ferrari or something. :]

then he'll be like everyother stockbroker! in my book:

rubbish broker = Porche Boxster
Average Broker = 525d
Good Broker = M3
Super Broker = (getting a bit old) 760li

dont you have to make up most of your wage on bonus , i know my cousins base salary is 90k but he easily makes double that through bonus.

suppose its better that way , if you dont perform they dont have to pay you!

I don't actually work in the London Stock exchange because them buggers earn 500k+ a year.

Simplified for you:

I find people who want to invest there money in stocks etc.. I have a target of £X million to bring into the company and I am already 200% over my target.. Hence the bonus. :)

Probably all been anwered but SMG v Manual - down to personal prefernce really , the problem is that SMG will take a month to get used to so a test drive won't tell you a lot

servicing , 4 services in rotation , 12.5k miles each , £200 , £750 , £200 , £850....

tyres £1000 a set

front disks and pads £350 ish

Get one with a BMW warranty. This lasts 3 years, you can then continue the warranty for a princely sum of around £1200 per year, BMW recently changed the terms and upset a lot of people to set a £250 excess on any warranty claims. Still well worth having though in my book.

The other significant costs will be fuel (I get around 23pmg on Optimax) and tyres, expect to pay at least £800 for a set.

More things to consider:

Phoenix Yellow and Laguna Secca Blue will be cheaper to purchase as the colours are a bit love or hate and most people hate them.

SMG or manual - SMG box is great, you hear hardly any complaints from drivers, personally I choose a manual. I'd test drive both and see which you prefer.

Make sure you get 19 inch wheels - but watch out for curbed alloys as they are very hard to refurbish.

Sat Nav/DVD is a desirable option and will help resale value, I think I'm right in saying that 2004 cars onwards were upgraded to a digital TV reciever rather than analogue.

Check the service book, and make sure its had all the services done on schedule otherwise you'll have problems with the warranty.

If its an early car make sure that the engine recall work has been done.

If any of the engine warning lights on the dash stay on when the engines started walk away.

This site is down today but usually full of very well informed people:

most of above I agree with , the BMW ( extended ) warranty is now not that important as the new T+C's stink so constant renewing is not a good deal

agree re colours ( add white to list ) , SMG etc

I average around 25mpg

re options as said 19's are a must , a lot of folks want Harmon Kardon and satnav

Thats not bad at all.. I was exspecting 1500 ish each service... quite shocked...

I have been quoted £450 for a set of tyres 18" (Goodyear Eagle F1s) and £600 for 19"

How often (mileage?) do the brakes need changing for "around town" driving?

Thanks

A mate of mine goes to belguim and gets them in very cheap.

I also get free fitting so the whole cost works out at a good price.

Some 18s from black circle is £125 each (fitted) so thats £500...(toyo proxes T1-R)
