BMW servicing

To resurrect this thread, I have just been quoted 169 and 225 by two different main dealers for an Oil service on my 330i.

The 225 guy stammered and decided they could match the other quote once I said that I had received a 169, so I don't think I'll be going there anytime soon as he was obviously trying it on!

Also the 169 goes down to 73 with my own oil, so result.

Cheers guys for pointing out how to save cash on servicing.

£225 for an oil service!

I have just booked my service with my local main dealer for next month.

The price - £231 with loan car. It should come down further once I see about supplying my own oil.

Service will be an Inspection 1.

Hmm, looking at those intervals for services on cars after 2000, it looks like you end up having an oil service twice a year if you cover 10k in a year!

Is that right?

No, thats not right.

The 'intermediate oil services' don't exist in the BMW service schedule, no idea what thats about.

I've found Sytner to be the cheapest and they also have a good reputation at Nottingham too hence why they got my business a few weeks ago.

130i Oil Service:

Stratstone Derby: £205
Sytner Nottingham: £171
Knights (North Staffs): £195

Just shows by ringing about you can get a considerable amount cheaper. I'm still not 21 yet but they offered me a courtesy car as long as it was a weekday. It wasn't really required for an hours job on a Saturday as I just wandered round the local shops instead.

Not sure on independant price as I want to keep this car with FBMWSH. Only thing I will be doing next time is supplying my own oil. If I bought the Mobil1 from Opie Oils rather than what the dealer charge I could have saved about £50 inc. VAT.

How much was it from Opie Oils? I worked out that it would cost me about 70-80 quid to source it from them or £100 from the dealer.

So how often do you get your car serviced then fox and what is your annual mileage?

You get it serviced when the lights tell you to - this can be anything from 8000-20000 miles depending on the type of driving you do, how hard you drive the car and whether you spend most of your time in town or on the Motorway :)

8k is worst case scenario, 20k is literally hundreds and hundreds of miles a day sat on the Motorway. In reality, its around 12-16k.

I've got my members login at home to get a bit of extra discount but to buy it at their standard website price would be £63.98 all in for the 6L of Mobil1 required to oil change my car.
