US: Boardwalk Empire S05

I doubt there will be any spins offs it costs too much and the ratings were too poor, the reason they kept it around 5 seasons is because it got so many awards

hard to see it going any other way... they should have had a fictional bad guy that could have been killed off.

Was always going to end that way... as the remaining bosses were real people and we knew they survived.

Oh well... still very good but rushed ending tbh

I was rather miffed that season 5 jumped ahead so much, Arnold Rothstein was one of my favourite characters, played absolutely brilliantly by the actor imo. Wish they could have done a bit on the intervening years between season 4 and 5 so that we could see his demise

yep they could have does a one of episode on him...

Harrow should have been in S5 as well

Feel a lot has been missed with the jump in time but what a brilliant TV series!

Sad to see it finish but enjoyed it all, even if S5 seaming rather rushed. Gotta say though the stand-out performance of S5 was Marc Pickering as young Nucky. Scarily good!

Randomly watching Sleepy Hollow ... who'd have thought it! :D

Just seen the final ep and I too feel a little bit disappointed by it. But at the same time, it was trying to mimic history therefore certain events can't be made up. It did seem to go out on a whimper, but it really has been a brilliant ride.

Didn't he die in season 4? After really screwing up in betting game?

Season 5 was rushed in my opinion but was pretty good regardless. 2 more episodes would've been good.

Watched the last two episodes end to end. Nice twist at the end but as a whole rather disappointing as it just started to fizzle out. It felt as thought they were trying to rush too many endings and it was a little disjointed. It's just a minor criticism as it must have been extremely difficult to put something like this to bed.

It has been a superb series, riveting from episode to episode. The acting, script, costumes, settings and filming have all been impeccable. I can't think of a series that has ticked all those boxes. This is one series I will be a happy to watch all over again.

yeah it was grand over all. As i said before the main issue was that the remaining bad guys all lived longer in real life so the ending was kind of half spoiled. They needed more fictional bad guys for some final episode drama

Just watched the last two EPs. Really enjoyed this season despite it being a little hard to follow some plots (like the stock market thing?) The look back at their pasts was really well done and kinda wished they used that a bit earlier. I thought the guy looked like jimmy but the twist was excellent IMO! Will be missed , very enjoyable show once it really got into the plots.
oh and Margaret won me over this season , they finally gave her a decent plot and lines! shame it happened so late...

Also thought it went out well. Perhaps not up there with Breaking Bad's finale but certainly better than most. Apart from Rothstein everyone's story had some closure.

The twist with Jimmy's kid I felt was a bit of a stretch as he'd barely been in it before but I did like the way it was full circle with the decision Nucky made early in life to send Gillian to the Commodore.
