US: Boardwalk Empire S05

Also thought it went out well. Perhaps not up there with Breaking Bad's finale but certainly better than most. Apart from Rothstein everyone's story had some closure.

The twist with Jimmy's kid I felt was a bit of a stretch as he'd barely been in it before but I did like the way it was full circle with the decision Nucky made early in life to send Gillian to the Commodore.

Yeah, I liked how it was that decision which set his fate rather than all the mischief he got up to as a criminal.

FInally watched season 5 this christmas. It didn't really draw me in while it was being shown and I also lost a bit of interest towards the end of season 4 but I'm glad I saw it through to the end. It think there was a certain case of style over substance some times but it was nice to see all the plot lines wrap up. I was quite shocked by Mueller's plot end!

loved the story, acting, and the last season was rushed but I think it filled in Nuckys past quite well. the recreation of that time was really immersive, not to mention the actors involved; namely Michael Shannon and Stephen Graham played their characters really well

Bit of a thread bump, but I just finished watching season 5. I wish I hadn't bothered now as season 5 was awful imo. The whole thing felt rushed with some great character building throughout the series not done justice with the quick tie ups and as others have said I was waiting for Nucky to get his revenge.

Also at the very end the character I had liked throughout the entire series I now hate after what he did. Felt really sorry for Gillian Darmody in the end. How Nucky could do that to her and show no remorse at the end, I just cant stand him now :(.

Has there been any more news on the film? I wouldn't mind a spinoff show with just the Newyork side. Stephen Graham was great in his role as Al Capone. I was expecting to see more of that in season 5 (like the Valantines day massacre etc, but it seemed to be just be condensed into some photoslides within the show :(.

Sure, but its like the guy with half a face said, they are soldiers. They all knew the risks when they chose that life and thought they were worth the rewards. Pimping out 12 year old girls turned him from not a good guy into a monster for me.

I think that was the turning point for him. He started off as a cop, a good guy but decided money and power were worth more to him than being a good guy.

I agree though, it was monstrous.
