Ever since a child I used to be a gamer, and weirdly my body always wakes me up exactly 7 to game. And during days of work, if I say i have to wake up at 5 and leave around 6am...weirdly i wake up near enough 5 or exactly. It's quite weird, im sure others have this aswell, but i rarely ever even need more than 4 hours sleep. Guess it could be the gamers sleep pattern or my tourret's that makes me hyper :P

My natural pattern if left to it is 3am-11am :S completely out of whack at the moment due to having to force myself to get up for 8am for a couple of weeks - which eventually causes it to go haywire hence still awake, though getting sleepy now, at almost 6am :( without further interruptions will reset to 3am eventually.

I don't use an alarm clock as my body clock is very reliable and currently goes off around 05:15. It's been stuck around this time for a while now.

I've kinda forced my body clock to change, I used to get up at the weekends around 8am, now it's more like 5:30am/6am. I just can't/don't want to stay in bed at the weekend.

No.
If left to my own devices I would sleep at 3am until 11am same as Rroff, but I start work at 7am so have to force myself into bed at around midnight and wake up at 6 over the course of 3 alarms - my missus loves the alarms.
I do find though, and this is groundbreaking news....I have tried to get to bed for 11pm this week and have got up easier all week - upon hearing only the second alarm!

Weekends are different...I will go to bed at 3am and force myself to get up at 10am.
I read somewhere that that people should really continue their normal midweek sleeping habits over the weekend and would feel a lot better for it.
My problem with this is obviously getting up at 6am - on purpose when I don't have to.

Also, I have had trouble sleeping over the last couple of years which I have put down to over-active thyroid (I was diagnosed with this by a professional).

So even when I stay in bed at the weekend and lie in until people start calling me lazy, I have probably only had like 5 or 6 hours broken sleep.

Luckily though I had my thyroid gland nuked and seem to be going under-active now so I hope one of the drawbacks of this - apart from getting fat and growing titties is that I will sleep really good.

Bizarre... I'm the same, rarely feel "awake" until early-mid afternoon (2-3pm) and rarely feel tired until gone midnight. Unfortunately I'm currently working on a customer site on the other side of the country, so getting up at 6, means going to bed at 10-11 and lying awake for an hour or 2 until I fall asleep :(

I'm a bit of a night owl, if left to my own devices will typically go to sleep about 3-4am and up around 10:30.

Work unfortunately doesn't allow me to do this, after some time off it's a nightmare trying to get my sleeping pattern back into shape! :p

I tested in Uni...
Spent a month just going to sleep / getting up as I desired.

I naturally get 12 hours sleep between about 5am -> 5pm.

So now having 8 hours kip I feel slightly tired all the time :/

Also, if no alarm... 11am is the earliest I wake

7:30am, pretty much on the dot every day, no matter what time I go to bed, although I'm usually asleep by 11. Unless my son decides to wake up before me and wake me up.

I've not used an alarm for about a year, unless I need to get up much earlier obviously

If I left my body to its own devices I would sleep for days. :p

Sadly I have to get up using an alarm clock to make me almost cack myself, and then I reluctantly drag myself out of bed... :(

Haha, sounds like me!

Workdays I have to use an alarm clock. I do however, have about 3 different alarm clocks set (on Vita, phone and an actual beeping alarm clock).

Weekends I just get up when I feel like it, which can sometimes be the afternoon. I get annoyed with myself for this though as I feel like I'm missing most of my day.

To be fair that is exactly me. No matter how late I go to bed, I can wake up about 10 mins before I need to, not failed me once!

Mental stuff. :p

I go camping a few times through the year and always sleep really well.
If I go on holiday abroad I sleep really well.
I hardly ever drink (alcohol) really unless I'm camping or on holiday abroad, then I drink daily - not falling over type drinking but a more social style "few pints" throughout the day and night.

Alcohol = good nights sleep
Tea (copious quantities usually ) = bad nights sleep

I absolutely can't get up at any reasonable time after alcohol though.
