Anybody here a fan of Bones?

It's one of the only recent series I've got into, and am up to Series 5. In some episodes its a bit trashy, but it's interesting all the same, really enjoyable. Link for more info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460627/

Anybody got a favourite season?

Both the wife and I are massive fans.

Favourite season was probably the third season, though the 4th was close too. Not too sure on the 5th yet, seems to have lost a little something.

Agree on the 3rd season being great, the long-running Gormogon storyline was really well done, as well as Howard Epps. The 5th storyline seems to be focusing on character rather than storyline.

Don't mind it at all. It's not a "major" fav, but it's a fairly constant show - but when it's bad, it's really bad.

I've been pretty happy with it though since Season 1.

one of my favourite tv programs. been watching it since the first series was released, looking forward to see how it will progress. plus emily deschanel is hot so that helps :P

I used to love Bones but it has changed too much in the last two seasons, they've dumbed down Brennan and almost totally forgotten about the forensics. I really like the books, although they're very different.

Nearly a year old thread revived! Only because I searched for a Bones thread :p.

On the recommendation of a forum member I began to watch Bones, watched all 6 seasons in 8 days

I love the characters, I agree the 3rd season although short, was the best story line/arc.

I see its on Sky Living on Weds. 8pm, season 6 episode 14.

People still watching/enjoying it?

The Booth/Brennan "thing" seems to be moving in S6, but is it too late or inevitable?...I personally think they've stretched it out too long, like 2 seasons too long but the 100th episode revisiting their very 1st case was great, but Booths new girlfriend seems like another sucker punch to the fans waiting for it, 6 seasons is a long time, it was more frustrating than Chuck!

Its been getting a bit crap, and the painfully bad Angela bits, the CSI style utter ridiculousness of basically everything she does is one of the main things preventing it from being a "great" show. Brennan was funny, witty, quirky in the first 3 seasons but it felt natural and "right" when it happened. Lately her stuff, like Jersey shore storyline but her ackward interactions are writen as jokes, rather than as natural dialogue if you see what I mean?

The different assistant every week got old, well 2 seasons ago, if thats when it started. As someone said, the actual forensics seems to have gone.

Generally every ep goes along the story line of... find dead body, the more gruesome the better, spend the first 5-10 minutes in lab being pointlessly gory, then Brennan is barely in the lab after that anymore, someone comes up with a new showy test, one of the assistant dudes has some irritatingly abnormal personality trait that has to be pointed out ad nauseum, and Bones/Booth go off and do completely their own thing for 35 minutes.

They are good, but as with any other show, the will they/won't they bang thing is SOOO ruddy old now.

For 3 seasons it was 80% superb eps, with a few stinkers in, but some great longer lasting storylines. Now its, well you're lucky to get an episode that doesn't have some massive daft theme, cartoon characters, coma, Jersey Shore, something, its becoming a bit of a cliched pile of poo at the moment. Its a shame but it basically felt like it was coming, without another well writen Gormogon type character to go after, it was going to run out of ideas.

Completely agree!

Thread revival!

The wife and I started watching series 1 last night. With no Castle or Criminal Minds on at the moment we decided to try this out as it's been quite popular.

We both like it thus far.

I always liked Bones, the latest season has been pretty much par for the course, except for the constant product placement, GO AWAY TOYOTA!!

I agree on the Angela thing, she's so 2 dimensional and cliched, and Brennan has changed completely from being a socially backward, almost autistic-like expert who almost doesn't *get* real life to being essentially a bit of fluff on Booth's arm with a very made up persona, hair/make up perfect etc, but y'know, it's still fun. Enjoyed it when her r/l sister Zooey came in as her cousin, that was a funny ep. Oh, and Angela's Dad story. SO OLD and EMBARRASSING!

This last season had me in bits towards the end though :(

I do enjoy it but the will they/won't they, the unsubtle product placement and the whole bones over-rationalising everything is getting a bit old and repetitive.

I watched that one the other day, was brilliant. Especially Booth asking "Is this your sister?". :p

This season (5) hasn't felt quite as charming or witty as the previous ones though. I got completely drawn in when watching the previous seasons on DVD and would end up watching several episodes in a row, but this one hasn't had the same effect. It's still good, just not as good. Same thing happened to Chuck though sadly.

Thread revival! I just caught up with Bones. Damn good! I had trouble getting started with Bones when it first came out years ago as I couldnt get over "omg Angel walking in sunlight!".

Season 7 will be interesting as Emily Deschanel is pregnant in real life.

At first we also kept expecting him to vamp people. It was weird lol.

Both still working our way through season 5. We should have caught up by the time 7 starts to air.

Where is the UK in terms of season 6?
