Its been getting a bit crap, and the painfully bad Angela bits, the CSI style utter ridiculousness of basically everything she does is one of the main things preventing it from being a "great" show. Brennan was funny, witty, quirky in the first 3 seasons but it felt natural and "right" when it happened. Lately her stuff, like Jersey shore storyline but her ackward interactions are writen as jokes, rather than as natural dialogue if you see what I mean?
The different assistant every week got old, well 2 seasons ago, if thats when it started. As someone said, the actual forensics seems to have gone.
Generally every ep goes along the story line of... find dead body, the more gruesome the better, spend the first 5-10 minutes in lab being pointlessly gory, then Brennan is barely in the lab after that anymore, someone comes up with a new showy test, one of the assistant dudes has some irritatingly abnormal personality trait that has to be pointed out ad nauseum, and Bones/Booth go off and do completely their own thing for 35 minutes.
They are good, but as with any other show, the will they/won't they bang thing is SOOO ruddy old now.
For 3 seasons it was 80% superb eps, with a few stinkers in, but some great longer lasting storylines. Now its, well you're lucky to get an episode that doesn't have some massive daft theme, cartoon characters, coma, Jersey Shore, something, its becoming a bit of a cliched pile of poo at the moment. Its a shame but it basically felt like it was coming, without another well writen Gormogon type character to go after, it was going to run out of ideas.
