Book issue

They will have to pay for it to be delivered to them now!
And it could now end up costing your sister a lot of money.
She wont pay it.
She will if they decide to go legal and she’s just stuck it intentionally in the post box without postage. Unlikely I know but still a risk she doesn’t need to be taking.

Nothing on the parcel that points to her.

Can you actually see a company going to court for £2.50? Lol

They should have done the decent thing in the first place...

Anyway, its her decision at the end of the day.

It's not the fact that there's nothing on the parcel that points to her, it's the fact that she's technically disposed of goods that don't belong to her.

If the company do decide to go legal, she's now in the wrong. If she still had the book in her possession she could easily use the Consumer Rights Act 2015, say she has the goods and is more than willing to accommodate a collection whenever is suitable for the company.

Now if it goes down that route she doesn't have a leg to stand on and will probably be liable for the cost of the goods, and any legal costs because the company can just say "We want to arrange a collection of our goods but you'd disposed of them by yeeting them into a random postbox with no details on it..."

As if the man who opens incoming post is going to do anything other than think to himself "No idea who this is from or who it's for" and just chuck it in a corner. He won't know what's going on with regards to the accounts or sales department.

For the space that a book takes up i'd just let the company know that it's ready for them to arrange a return at their expense, and that they've got X long to do so before it's disposed of.

Dropping it in a post box with no sign of who sent it is not something that is going to help anyone, as has been said it means there is no proof that the customer has returned it (thus they've still got a liability) and no proof it's reached the shop.

This whole thread is so strange.

OP: Can I get some thoughts on what I should do, I've already made up my mind but let me hear them.

GD: *sensible suggestions* (not a sentence I ever thought I'd say in GD...)

OP: I'm going to ignore all that and tell her to do what I already thought she should do.

:confused::confused::confused:

You new to GD?

I think this thread needs to be submitted to Parliament, as an example of why some people shouldn't be able to vote.

Well, its getting returned tomorrow now as she is going to pop it into a postbox, without a senders address on it and no postage on it.

The shop can pay for that now or it will get destroyed by RM.
Why not just confess to the murder of Jimmy Hoffa whilst you're at it? All you (or your relative) had to do was nothing, and yet you still messed that up.
