I'm not sure whether this is a boot/motherboard problem or a linux problem but I thought it seemed more approriate here.
I am trying to boot into Backtrack 3, have tried from CD and USB (http://dotnetwizard.net/vista-stuff/tips-how-to-bootinstall-windows-7vista-from-usb-flashhard-drive/) and I just can't get it to work.
Setting CD as priority boot device and using a CD I burnt the image onto, I get the error: "Fatal error occured - BT3 data not found."
Then it gives me the workaround of putting the folders in the iso into my root directory (which I have done for both my partitions) but this does not work.
"Something went wrong and we can't continue. This should never happen." Then it tells me to reboot
Trying to boot from USB, I think I might have done the mobo settings wrong because it just tells me to put a valid boot device in, and I copied those instructions very carefully.
Anyone have any experience booting from USB or CD on a P5Q? What settings do I need? Or if you can figure out the CD problem that would be great too. Also I'm currently dual-booting Windows 7 RC and Windows XP Pro with specs in sig.
Thanks for any help, I'm new to linux (trying to learn) so be gentle
