Whenever I try to use the F6 driver sata driver install method, I get blue screens. I tried it with AHCI and RAID in bios, as I read RAID enables AHCI and u are ready to use raid then. I must have tried it 10 times all together. I have 4 sata drives running in ide mode atm.

Also there is no safe way to retro fit sata with a sata boot drive, this true?

After putting some old components back to test prior to selling them, I tried again. W7 installation wizard refused to touch a disk set as dynamic. So I had to use winXP CD to eraze it and repartition. After about 10 attempts I got W7 to install with SATA selected in bios using just 1 Sata drive, a Pata DVD.

I think I've just got BSOD due to having 4 disks installed with many partitions.
