Booths & Waitrose

Remember the late 1990s when Sainsbury's was considered "posh"?

I would now peg Sainsbury's around about the same level as Tesco... middle of the market.

ASDA is for the chavs, as it's always full of pushchairs whenever I visit which is normally when I go to get the teas/coffees/sugar for work.

M&S is for the posh farts :p

Not been in a Waitrose's, Morrison's, Lidl's or Aldi's. Haven't even heard of Booths.
 
There's no Waitrose in my town is so peasant like and Booths are only up north, I stock up on beer in the one in Barrowford when I work nearby.
 
I don't even know what "Booths" is - Never heard of it.

Waitrose nearest to me (12 miles) closed years ago so thankfully do not have to be subjected to it's snobbery.

Aldi all the way - I find the food to be of MUCH higher quality than the likes of Asda / Tesco and of course a lot cheaper. I feel like I am under pressure to get in and get out, but to be honest I don't like spending time in shops anyway, so that suits.

OP - This is one of those times that being a commoner is actually of benefit.
 
The waitrose in Farnham is an ultra posh one, it's full of elderly men with tweed caps and bright red faces like hams.

It's frigging expensive, but there's some seriously nice stuff in there - I occasionally treat myself with stuff from their deli, usually the fresh fish, but omg - some of the deserts are deadly.. expensive, but really nice.
 
I like waitrose and booths, I don't live near enough to do my main shop but it's great to drop in and get a few goodies to liven up the weekly shop now and again.

You know what - I used to think this,

Went in a couple of nights ago, and most of the main brands are there - albeit stacked on pallets, rather than shelves :D but there's certainly a saving to be had on main-brand packaged goods, (dairy/frozen/etc)
 
I have an Iceland, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S Food all within a few metres walk of each other.

Waitrose and M&S obviously tend to be a bit more expensive, but what I like is that I can go in them (especially M&S) and not have to queue very long. Where as if I go in Morrisons, there are long queues at the tills, even for 15 items and the self service machines. I'd much rather do a really big shop in Morrisons, but I'm pretty sure there is a corner of hell that mirrors what it's like in there on a Saturday afternoon.
 
Never heard of booths, thought the op couldn't spell :p

Shop with waitrose online mostly and using mysupermarket, waitrose is on a par or cheaper than the rest. Certainly cheaper when you factor in the others charge for delivery and don't include a free newspaper. The service is much nicer too, polite and smart.

Aldi is brilliant, one brand spanking new shop 5 mins from me, they stock EVERYTHING all no brands but surprisingly very good, give it a try may open your eyes :)

What is a fun game and I guess it's one of the reasons it's super cheap is that you have to pack your own bags while been slung products super fast after been scanned, I can hardly keep up :D Ohh and they have 5 checkouts and 1hr long cues he!! But this is the way we are going to achieve super cheap.
 
The Booths store in Lytham is awesome - hot roast beef baguette with horseradish sauce and onions, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
