Hi people weird issue here:

My dad has a machine with 2 HD's, his Seagate is his main drive with the OS and he had a Western Digital for backups.

He bought a new Hitachi for backups so I put this in the machine and moved the backups from the WD on to Hitachi.

I then formatted the WD and took this out as it was no longer needed.

But without this the PC won't boot to the OS, if I put it back in then the machine will boot, but there is absolutely nothing on this drive it is blank.

If I use seatools it picks up the WD as the main boot partition, even though windows sees the Seagate as the C:

They are all Sata drives the Seagate C: is in Sata2 the WD is in sata1 and the Hitachi in Sata3.

I don't know why is Seagate c: was not in Sata1 I did not setup this PC.

No matter how I swap where the drives are plugged in the machine will not boot without the WD plugged in.

Any help appreciated.

make sure the boot order in the bios is set to start the segate first the motherboard may have picked the Hitachi as the first boot when you remove the wd

what windows are you using
