Borderlands 4 (2025)

I hadn't played for a few months. A couple of posts in here made me remember it was on the back burner and fire it up again...

Is it just me or do these loot fountains from some mobs just ruin the game? I'm spending more time looking through piles of loot than playing. But FOMO won't let me ignore the orange ones at least.

So back to the back burner it goes until loot returns to normal. Anyone know when that is?

The loot events and key drops have always just shouted a desperate “please keep playing our game”. Potentially trying to keep people latched on whilst they ready a DLC or something.

I came back to this for the Stone Demon dlc and hated it.

Even with explosive weapons the enemies are bullet sponges. The glowing manglers when you fight chiselbella are a perfect example of what’s wrong with certain enemies.

I’m hoping the story dlc is decent but so far I think BL3 is a better game. The only thing I’d take from BL4 is the movement mechanics.

Have any of you played the Ellie dlc?

The biggest issue is the length. I need to stop buying the top end editions of games with unreleased content. Moxxi and Krieg dlc was awesome so I had high hopes for the dlc in 4 but everything released so far hasn't been great.

It’s frustrating as BL4 feels great to play, and the lighting looks genuinely stunning at times but there’s not much reason to come back this.

I’ve put over 100 hours into this game and it feels like there’s not much more to do.

I’ve got over 1000 in bl3!

edit: on a more positive note there has been a noticeable improvement in performance on the latest patch! I'm getting similar fps in DLSS quality now that I got using performance pre-patch.

I've not played the new dlc and tbh I don't think I will, the game was a bit of a struggle to get through by the end and it genuinely felt like a step backwards. It just didn't feel like a Borderlands game and the removal of the toilet humour took away some of it's charm.
I also feel like the art style is just a little too polished for me and the lack of physx like in BL2 is more of a detriment to the game.
All in all, I feel like this is the last Borderlands game I'll pre-order.

Yeah I agree with most of that, the open world added nothing to the game either.

Because of the complaints of BL3 they took away a lot of the soul of borderlands.

I'm personally done with pre-ordering any games now. You honestly get a better experience waiting a year and buying the "complete edition" that's fully patched and at less than half the launch price.
